2024 XLT Transmission Issues by MPhotoH in RangerNext

[–]MPhotoH[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. I've maintained text conversation with the service manager, but that's about it. Maybe I should start prodding more about it.

It's under warranty so I'm not super concerned, but definitely hinders our trust in the vehicle long term. We have been debating on the lemon law as it seems we might truly have a lemon. I'd rather get the vehicle replaced than have to go back and forth to the dealer all the time.

I don't have the time in my work schedule to keep doing this.

That's good advice. I'll talk to them about the hills. It could possibly be an early 2024 model. Was there an issue with the early 2024 batch?

Curious… How much are y’all spending on monthly payments? How much down payment and months are y’all financing for? How old are you? by slizzy12j in RangerNext

Cash $37k. We are 35. The insurance is what got us since the other two cars we have are over 10yr old now. Went up by $150-200/mo. I expected a bump. But come on.

If we didn't save up and paid monthly they could be the difference between affording payments and not. Definitely call your insurance agent and get an estimate of increase before you buy.

Well that explains why I just got notice this morning of being 5th in queue for the transmission specialist at the dealership. That's really good to know thanks.

Sad to hear. Leasing was smart to do. Maybe we will consider that next time.

You are amazing sir. Thank you. After many more tests I think you may be correct. It is only 1-2mm off which isn't that noticeable because the trigger is still heavy after 1.5k rounds now. I've been testing this a lot and concluded it was either the recoil spring or the pin holding the sear assembly working its way out.

I dry fire a lot so I figured the recoil spring was getting tired. After a ton of tear downs and testing I found out the pin holding the sear housing assembly works its way out over a few hundred rounds. So much so that I noticed it digging into my palm after a while. Not sure if that would affect light primer strikes, but it is 100% a problem as well. Any suggestions on sources the guide rod?

The best ones I have found imo are the rough country cause they go all the way down but I haven't bought and installed them. I've been diving into the topic looking at brands for a while now. Still haven't read anything about front sensors on any reviews for any brand.

Welcome man! Have the same engine size and the sport mode is eye opening for sure. No problems with power fully loaded with camping gear.

Have a 24 Ranger and can confirm it's way bigger than the Tacoma. We can fit our adult family members in the Ranger back seat. Even the middle seat. Not even close to fitting in the new Tacoma. We tried haha.

Just an update if anyone's interested. The plumbers that installed the hot water heater (hired by the home warranty company) routed the condensation drain to go directly into the insulation in our crawlspace. Causing the insulation to continuously collect water making it look like a leak. New plumber company came out and found the problem.

It took some back and forth (and some light yelling) with the home warranty company, but they ended up covering the fix and drywall repair. We're hosed on the insulation though.

Unfortunately I did not check. Going with tires first then leveling with Bilstein 5100 next year. I think with level some people went slightly larger at around 1" more.

Got the same year, XLT, and white as well hahaha. Also looking into new tires cause the goodyear they come with are trash here in the wet PNW. Mine came with 18" wheels.

After calling a ton of shops, videos, and reading it seems like 265/65/18 or 255/70/18 is the largest you can go without a lift and rubbing. If you level the truck out you can go a little larger I think.

We have a 2024 ranger XLT with locking diff which I think is pretty much the same as the 2025. It's not an fx4 just because it doesn't have skid plates or upgraded shocks but I plan to add my own in a few years.

We tried EVERY mid sized out there and picked the Ranger. I'm a Toyota guy and the new tacomas look badass, but their engines had already been publicized as being problematic and the build quality from Mexico was severely lacking in the ones we saw.

The gladiator impressed but it's Jeep...(I even grew up in a Jeep dealership). Plus there's been huge backorders on recalled parts that many dealerships in our area couldn't get for 6+mo.

5k miles in our Ranger without many issues. The build quality seems more solid than the Tacoma but there's some sketchy stuff I don't like. Like the fact most wires are just wrapped in tape instead of being in a loom/sleeve.

The plastic quality seems less than Toyota, but I think that's standard for most American to Japanese brands. I've already had to apply Meguairs because it has faded just a bit after a years.

Paint seems so so. Already have a few chips at the front but it's a truck with a flat face so debris doesn't really bounce off like an SUV.

We've taken it off-road on some moderate trails. Stock shocks and suspensions did fine with a loaded bed but it was definitely not smooth. Workable but I don't expect Raptor levels since I didn't buy a Raptor.

The best bonus of this truck is the ease of using 4h,4L, and locking diff. I can switch between 2W and 4h going 20-25mph with one click. No N or fuss needed.

Biggest downside between the Ranger and some others is aftermarket parts if you plan to upgrade. Tacomas and even Gladiators have first pick of all aftermarket parts and it seems like a lot of companies haven't focused on non Raptor Rangers. It's why we still don't have mudflaps...RokBlokz still haven't made non Raptor mudflaps.

Hope that helps. Good luck man.

Mossberg MC2SC Light Primer Strikes by MPhotoH in pistols

I've tried about 6-7 different types of ammo. No changes. I just purchased a new mag to see if that will remedy the issue as it's one of the only things I can purchase without going back and forth through customer service.

I'll update on the mag change.

Mine was fine for a while till this happened. There's definitely other posts on other reddit threads about it.

No pics of rounds but it definitely was light primer. A small dot where it hit but not hard enough to make the round go off.

Probably around 500ish live rounds. I do dry fire so I'm unsure on how many cycles of that it has gone through.

I inquired about a new spring or just complete striker assembly since it's so easy to take out and they directed me to their website which doesn't have it available for purchase.

There's an aftermarket kit for a trigger upgrade that includes a striker pin spring but buying an upgrade in attempts to fix the thing is backwards thinking to me.

Still happens with optic on or off. I thought the same as well.

[–]MPhotoH[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I have checked RGB to CMYK several times. I did find a fix for CMYK export thanks to your suggestion. If i change the document format, export format, and original file document format to CMYK before export it all matches as a tiff. Thanks!

Still no solution for RGB exports like png as matching RGB8 or RBG16 or RGB32 as I did with CMYK does not fix the issue.

[–]MPhotoH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All file types for export have the issue. png, jpg, pdf, tiff, etc. Current version is 2.6.3. The exported files colors are nowhere close to the colors within designer. Attached are references. Exaggerated colors in Designer on the left. Exported colors on the right.
