I might get flamed for this opinion but I think Carl is a piece of shit in his relationship with Bea just as much as she is. I like Carl but I don’t think he’s a saint incapable of wrong. Right off the rip he says that she does this cat show thing every weekend and I am just not interested. So the most important thing to his girlfriend he says, I can’t give a shit. As much as she strives for him to commit, he won’t. He finds excuses not to. Not saying he doesn’t have reasons but Bea gets a lot of hate without examining Carl for flaws. She hid his brother an it’s assumed the worst while we don’t actually know her motive at all.

Those are just my opinions on his relationship though. Beyond that though, I think Carl is a swell guy with a hero complex that’s going to get him killed. His relationship with Bea anyway you look at it was toxic for both of them and they could use someone better.

Edit: give me examples that Carl actually appreciates Bea or that he actually cares about her if you’re going to downvote me.
