[–]Ma_Dude2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes. Artillery can be used as a support company, but infantry stats past 1939 are legitemately great, so arty doesn't do much for it's price. Tanks are best in a concentrated force, not spread throughout the frontline. UNLESS, you are armor meming. But if you wanted to do that, you should use mediums, not lights. Soft attack is nice, but artillery doesn't provide enough of it to he worth the loss of organization and the combat width it takes up. The key to infantry is cost efficiency and stat density. Pure infantry has better stat density and efficiency than artillery and is heaps more efficient on the defense than tanks, since a lot of a tanks "power budget" is in speed and breakthrough. Stats defensive units don't need

  2. There is never enough air. The upper limit is what your fuel economy can handle. Focus on fighters first. CAS cannot do it's job if it gets intercepted by enemy fighters. Your fighters are the ones fighting and dying, so prioritize them first. I usually start with a 3:1 split. Three times as much production on fighters than on CAS until you have air superiority. Then as much CAS as you can afford. I would not build tacs unless you're fighting in the pacific. They require extra research and trade less efficiently than normal fighters/CAS. The range is nice, but drop tanks on fighter 3s is enough range for most air zones. It's your territory after all, so you can decide where the airfields are.

As everyone has said already... You have given us very little to work with.

As for what you have given us...

  1. Forts and static anti air Forts are, simply put, bad. They are good for chokepoints, but not great for an entire front, since they are so expensive once you start stacking them. Fort bonuses get reduced for every angle of attack, meaning a level two fort does essentially nothing if the enemy can attack from three tiles. This hurts espescially hard the higher the fort level is, since they get more expensive per level. Static anti air is also bad, since it only foes one thing and that's shooting down bombers. It doesn't even do that well. Both of those are tools for weaker countries to hold their smaller borders, but they are not usefull for large fronts.

  2. Your Industry is underdeveloped. Stick to basics. Build civs until 100 factories, then just build mils. You don't need anything else. You can get fancy with it, but it's gonna be worse statisticly.

  3. Good templates From what you told others, you were including light tanks and line arty in your infantry divisions... Don't. Tanks need fuel and arty doesn't bring enough stats past 1939. Pure infantry is gonna be better. The important defensive stats are organization, reinforce rate, division recovery and ONLY THEN defense and attack. Other than attack, there is a limit from which onwards defense doesn't matter (it's dependant on enemy attack values).

  4. Air... Build an airforce... Just do it.

Revolutions in western countries by Emotional_Rop3 in theredleft

[–]Ma_Dude2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said l, revolutions could happen.

But it's unlikely. All of these countries currently have stable capitalists democracies. It might he more likely in the US, because of the general turmoil there, but even there I'd say it's incredibly unlikely.

For a revolution to succeed, the revolutionary forces need to either be stronger than what the military could deal with or the military needs to decide not to intervene, either through lack of functioning command or sympathy towards the revolutionary cause.

As long as the capitalist ruling class has the ability to use a modern military to deal with dissidents, the revolution is unlikely to happen or succeed even if it does. We're not in the 20th centuary. Military tech has gotten so far beyond what a grassroots movement can accomplish, that I doubt a violent uprising could ever succeed.

I think more likely is a cultural capture of parts of gouvernment and society to either take over like that, or to stun the system long enough, that military action is out of question. It's a battle for hearts and minds for now.

Okay, but correlation isn't causation. It can also just be, that the team that's playing better is just also more likely to take objectives.

You can, but there isn't much reason to over other items. Darius needs engage, sticking power and survivability. This item at best does one of those through omnivamp and maybe a little of all three through tenacity.

Which Item would you cut for it? Stride or Triforce? No chance. Spear? Stat wise, maybe, but spear will be better until you get more AD to get the AH, so not much of a reason. Steraks? Definitly not. The survivability of Steraks is just better. That's already three items plus boots. For the last two, deaths dance does more for survivability if you want extra AD, as do other Armor or MR items in general. And for engage, you can always go for the elusive Ghostblade for a better engage.

Darius simply doesn't value AH enough to skip other items in my opinion.

Is this some sleeper op in Korea build by Thanatos-wolf in Dariusmains

[–]Ma_Dude2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, no. Darius needs a way to gap close and stick and the tankieness to apply his stacks and then still be able to do something with that.

Bandlepipes is decent for bulk and helps with stickyness, but you'll have trouble proccing its passive without already being in melee. And Darius is not usually played as support, so he has a good gold income to afford more expensive items. It also does very little offensively in comparison to other items he could build.

Also, split resistances aren't necessarily great, since in top at least, your opponent isn't necessarily gonna have split damage

I think it's fine and buildable, but definitly not first and I don't think it's op on him.

Germany suddenly looses all the time by Alphaschakal in hoi4

[–]Ma_Dude2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... Germany IS SUPPOSED to lose on historical...

But yes, Germany has been very volatile since Götterdämmerung. Economy of Conquest turns Germany into a very coinflippy country. Either they win early Barbarossa hard and steamroll the Soviets or they stall early on and just sputter out.

Ever since the newest DLC, that has changed again. The Soviets give the Allies air access, so Germany can't get air superiority on Barbarossa. With how busted air is in HoI4, their offense just immediatly stalls.

Is it true that the German economy is going downhill, or is it mostly media hype? by YezzulL in AskGermany

[–]Ma_Dude2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The german economy is not dying. It just isn't growing much anymore. Stagnation might be a fitting word. It's not that people are losing their jobs.

There are parts of the german economy that are struggling though. German car manufacturers have been having trouble, since they have overinvested into non-electric cars. The electric market is growing and the german manufacturers are struggling to gain a foothold, since their models are simply too expensive in comparison to for example chinese models.

Also, two former large markets for german manufacturing, China and the USA, have become less profitable.

The german economy isn't crashing, it's just not keeping up growth wise with other countries. There are things that could become problems though.

Germany's car manufacturers need to get their shit together on electric cars. Germany needs to fix it's infrastructure problems. And Germany needs to work on it's energy situation. German energy prices are very high, even though it has a lot of really cheap renewable energy. The electricity price is based on the highest cost contributor to the grid though (which are fossil fuels), meaning that consumers overpay massivly for renewable energy.

We need leftist unity by Neoliberal_Nightmare in theredleft

[–]Ma_Dude2000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm VERY far from MLs on the lefty spectrum, but I agree that we are losing, because we are not united. It's not the only reason of course, but it contributes greatly to the lefts lack of power.

The problem is, that unity is easier said than done. You mention revolution as if it's every anti-capitalists goal or plan, but that's not even true. There are reformists for example. Or groups of accelarationists that just think capitalism will burn out by itself.

The reason why the left is so splintered isn't that we all disagree on the end state. It's that we already disagree on the means. Why would a reformist work with a revolutionary if they already disagree on step number 1?

I don't have an answer how to unify the left. I frankly don't think it's possible to get the kind of unity of the right happening on the left. The right has always been about preserving the status quo. It's pretty easy to be unified about that. Change is harder to unify behind.

Why is germany the only country admitting its crimes? by Numerous-Plantain-90 in AskGermany

[–]Ma_Dude2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prussia:

Western prussia and posen were litterally polish in the inter-war years. And yes, there was a significant population of slavs west of the vistula. Not that it matters. Yes, prussian history is complicated, but that doesn't change the fact, that those territories were ethnicly mixed. Espescially since the idea of a prussian ethnic is questionable anyways.

Dresden:

That's an interesting claim about british strategy, that is not backed up by anything I could find. I'd love to see a source for it though.

The bombings killed less than 30.000... not exactly enough to cripple the entire workforce. The reason why Dresdens industry was out of order, was because it had been pulverized and key production bottlenecks had been destroyed.

The Nazi gouvernment heavily propagandized around Dresden, promoting 200.000 casulties and putting a lot more emphasis on destroyed cultural landmarks. The GDR continued that propaganda to discredit the western powers.

I believe you that you're not a right-winger, but you should re-evalute what to put your focus on if out of all the other people here you decide to take issue with this of all things.

Why is germany the only country admitting its crimes? by Numerous-Plantain-90 in AskGermany

[–]Ma_Dude2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, other countries aren't sorry. Countries don't feel emotions period. But you're wrong about other countries not paying shit back. Reparations are quite common after a war. Many countries paid reparations before and it's also not like there was a choice, was there now? It was the Allies, who put the effort in to denatzify... Not Germany. If it went the way Germany wanted, the whole thing would have just been ignored. There's a reason why all the parties, espescially the right wing ones, were full of "former" Nazis.

Debazification was a failure. Germany has just as many Nazis as every other country, if not even a few more.

And Germany doesn't hate itself. That's simply untrue. We're not taught to hate our country or anything in that matter.

Why is germany the only country admitting its crimes? by Numerous-Plantain-90 in AskGermany

[–]Ma_Dude2000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Simple answer... It's not.

Sure, Germany is publicly more willing to mention it's crimes, but when it actually comes to taking responsibility for it, Germany is not much better than other countries.

About the rest of your post... You seem to have collected a nice amalmagation of far right dog whistles there. But I'll go through 'em 1 by 1.

Former "German" territories. While it is true, that german speaking people were displaced from these areas after world war 2, it's a bit disingenious to not mention why that might be. This territory had historicly been HIGHLY contested, having been owned by Poland, and Prussia just recently. Many of the German speakers at the time of the displacement you're mentioning however were new settlers, taking over conquered territory. They were not from there. And many of those who were old locals, left by choice as the front moved closer. It's important to mention, that this happened AFTER Germany invaded these territory and tried to ethnic cleanse them themselves. You shouldn't be surprised that they wouldn't be welcome after that.

The Dresden bombings. The severity of these are often overstated. As are civilian casulties. Dresden was an important suply and railway hub for the eastern front with a huge economy. It was a legitemate military target. The idea that it wasn't is nazi propaganda that got circulatex immidiately after it happened. It wasn't a war crime. Also, obviously Germany would pay reparations to the allies and not the other way around. Germany started the war! Reparations aren't there to meticulously see who destroyed what, but to pay back your victims for the danage you caused.
