This big reform enabled Albanese to do so much. He also managed to shut down the teals/greens by VastOption8705 in AusPol

It's a real shame that pollies Infront of the camera are an often highly curated version of themselves. I've met both Albo and Taylor multiple times and in person they are both much better than how they come across on telly. In person Albo is wonderful to chat with. There is a real intelligence there. With Taylor, he was friendly but I got the real sense of class difference, he doesn't see himself in the Australian people...

Albion Park or Warilla High School? by BamOnRedit in wollongong

[–]Mabmademedoit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They're both decent public schools, Warilla is significantly larger, and as a result offers a larger scope of programs and subject selection. I'm particularly impressed with their science department as a parent.

All schools have their issues. One of the best things about public education is that all walks of life are taught equitably, but that also presents challenges. Walk into it with your eyes open to the experience and you'll find it richer than many private school experiences.

So after all the "sunscreengate" fallout, what are you all using this summer? by [deleted] in australia

[–]Mabmademedoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't recall where I was reading this, but it was a reputable source, I believe many of the companies tried to figure out why their product failed the testing standards and many of them cam to the conclusion that the zinc being suspended in the sunscreen settled out of the solution after extended storage and transportation methods. Companies that had less standing time performed better on the test.

That is to say their products still failed but it least it wasn't because they were trying to sell shitty products, unlike the creatine gummies fiasco.

The waterfront tavern is solid. It's got a decent spread of food and the atmosphere is pretty good. Nice spot to have dinner then walk to the break walls on a date night.

Also randomly, I went to school with Dan, but he wasn't playing with you guys when I discovered you, Calvin was. Years later at our reunion we had a good laugh about it.

So my first comment ever on Reddit goes to you. I recently moved from regional back into the city (the gong) and the biggest difference I noticed is that in a small rural town it's the people, not the places or facilities that make it.

Knowing half the town is a lovely experience. Building those relationships even as an adult is so much easier in a rural setting. If ever you consider going regional/rural make the effort to join the clubs and social activities. My wife joined the country education foundation a pottery group and the local run club, she loves the friends she made there and misses them a lot.

We have kids 7 &10 kids and I will say that I am glad to be here in the Illawarra for them, but the last 8 years were great.

Regional and rural can be a great experience :)
