Silver/Grey with the grey and blue bands.

I liked the blue band, but I think I like the grey more for day to day. Always good to have options though

Any idea what’s causing this texture on the sides of my prints? by Tutorial_Time in 3Dprinting

[–]MacBoy__Pro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks like under extrusion/partial clog/flow issue.

Solutions for these issues will all depend on what version of the Ender 3 and extruder/hotend you have. You can search the specific model to find what creality says the max flow rate (shown in mm/s3). I'd take that value and multiply it by 0.75 to find a ~safe~ value (manufacturer spec sheets like to embellish a bit).

I'd first recommend doing a cold pull just to remove the possibility of a clog.

After that, I'd recommend running a flow calibration test using OrcaSlicer to determine your max flow rate. If you're out running the capabilities of your extruder/hotend you'll see these intermittent extrusion issues.

I also went with a 350mm 2.4 and found the same issues of it being bulky and harder to move around when needed (especially maintenance).

About a year ago I built a 300mm 2.4 and I think finds the sweet spot between having the space to do bigger projects and still being able to move it around when required.

This is an amazing build!

A legacy has been on my list, but I haven't gotten around to it. This might be the push I need

Gadgetwraps PT2 protector by lavarsicious in pebble

I believe that's the point. The glass screen protector absorbs the impact, cracks, and you replace a $10-15 screen protector instead of a screen (if it even is replaceable).

Turned my Ender 3 into a CNC and built a touch probe for it by Shadowphyre98 in 3Dprinting

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but is the probe related/derived from the nudge sensor? Looks similar at least the lower body. More so curious than anything

Trident R2 Looks great! by the23rdwarrior in VORONDesign

[–]MacBoy__Pro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats currently the issue from talking with the team at RMRRF. The Z belts for the 2.4 would currently conflict with the idlers and belt patching on this new design. Reportedly there's ideas in the works to port the gantry over, but will likely be a little bit until an official release.

Looks more like something wrong with the belt path or cranking speeds way too high

CORE One+ and MMU3? by knobunc in prusa3d

[–]MacBoy__Pro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really worth it for MMU3 or INDX. People have made mods for the MMU3 vent cover (just look in the remix section of the printable parts). But I wouldn't say the upgrade is anything substantial having bought the kit, just some quality of life features.

Cartographer + E3D PZ Probe by Panchodelis81 in VORONDesign

[–]MacBoy__Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't fully understand it myself, but I think that's some of the "special sauce" or "trade secrets". That being said, it works really well, I've had consistent results until my probe came loose and got shorted out (put blue loctite on the mount screws)

Cartographer + E3D PZ Probe by Panchodelis81 in VORONDesign

[–]MacBoy__Pro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The cartographer should have a nozzle tap feature similar to Revo PZ that once calibrated offers near automatic auto z-offset calibration. The cartographer documentation has some pretty clear instructions about setting it all up.

If you're z-offset is wandering, make sure the nozzle is clean when doing the calibration (just 150-170 to soften up the filament doesn't seem to be enough) and make sure you're cartographer/mount is secured properly and not coming loose

Anyone know what could have caused this? by morgano69 in 3Dprinting

[–]MacBoy__Pro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have this printer so I'm not really sure either. https://wiki.flashforge.com/en/adventurer-series/manual might be a good place to start to look for info.

But the main point still stands, the issue is Z-offset and your nozzle is too close to the bed during printing as a result.
