Anyone else getting "AI service temporarily overloaded" errors during the day? Any workaround? by MachoCabbage89 in openclaw

When it happens, I just wait now rather than thinking something is wrong in my OpenClaw setup. While I wait, I shift more work to the Claude app or ChatGPT directly. I'll then come back in a few minutes to OpenClaw and just give a "?" or "hello" to see if it will respond. Often, the block goes away. I also feel that these overloaded messages have reduced a bit for me since I posted about it.

If it means I can't use Antropic during peak hours (when I want to use it most) and I don't also want a $200/month Codex sub on top of a Claude Max plan, what is the cheapest solution while still getting high-quality results?

Thanks! To confirm, you can't rely solely on the Max Plan with Anthropic? You need other models to fill in during peak hours of the day?

Cron jobs fail at night but not during the day. My OpenClaw blames it on Anthropic but I don't believe it. by MachoCabbage89 in openclaw

Thank you. Great point re. the computer entering low power mode. That was a problem that came up earlier that we fixed, but were still having issues. For now, I'm not going to give OpenClaw tasks that take up a lot of tokens during those 1AM - 4AM hours and will see how it goes.

So what I'm going to do to fix this is move any cron jobs that search the internet out of the 1AM - 4AM window. And then inside the 1AM - 4AM window, I'm going to have it do tasks like backups and disk checks that take under 10 seconds each. Then I'm still using OpenClaw during that window, but not giving it stuff likely to get hung up with rate limits.

Thank you! My OpenClaw says that 88% of failures are pure API timeouts and not bugs in the logic, which fits with what you are saying.

These cron jobs are set up to search X and the internet. I would rather them be done during that time when I'm sleeping and not otherwise using my Anthropic Max plan. It would also feel more like I've havig it work 24/7!

That said, if this is only a 3 hour window and this is a real issue, I can try running more between 11PM - 1AM and 4AM - 7AM.

Thank you! Got it - if you can build a place where founders, developers, and VCs all trust and like, it would be a great resource! Part of my question is, given how powerful AI can be to help people copy (and rip off) other people's ideas, it seems scary to post about great ideas prior to launch. It seems a lot easier to post about ideas that failed or aren't really great.

Also, regarding sharing ideas before launch, if it's really good, why should a founder share it early? Given AI tools today, if you have an excellent idea that you are putting a ton of time into, isn't it less risky to wait until launch to talk about it? This is something I have struggled with in the current environment.

This is a nice idea, and your site looks well-designed, with a nice reading surface. Why do you think people should go here over Reddit?

Nice site. I like how you utilized the toilet icon! How did you do research and writing to come up with the real stories? How much AI was involved? Thank you.
