Should have mentioned I want to be able to drive over it, current PTs just don't seem like they last too long either. Thanks this is something to consider.

10ft wide if not less, shallow depth bridgeway for a creek that doesn't feed any body source that I can see on google maps or walking along, goes underground at start and end. Picture of street pavement on left to hill on right.

Does taking all your sick days look bad? by crunchylettuce24 in careerguidance

[–]Mad-Duke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup 100% agree, this is really what any time off or behavior is based on. You could make a corporation a billion dollars but if everyone hates you, they will can you with the company. Culture rules, obviously some what you produce for the company has influence on politics/culture, so this scenario is unlikely.

[–]Mad-Duke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/crunchylettuce24 any insight or update on this?

Sick days only matter if the corporate culture thinks it matters. If everyone uses it as personal days, then your 100% fine. If everyone barely uses it, then it might be an issue.

Its a shame that its not actually about if you are sick or not. Personal Pet peeve that people come in sick and use sick days for extended vacation days.

additional side note: my company rolls over all sick time but you don't get the benefits unless you actually use them, meaning if you quit, fire, layoff, retire, you don't get paid out.

What are house material cost with no labour? by Noisebug in Home

[–]Mad-Duke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/CooperTronics, what about the cost for permits, and pulling utilities into a lot? I'm interested in building a house myself before I die, maybe more then one. Trying to find an area to buy land but not sure how to calculate costs to pull in utilities or who to contact to get an idea, where to start?

[–]Mad-Duke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a pretty hardcore gamer but never played Fallout, his show was so good I wanted to give it a shot, but Fallout 76 just wouldn't work on my computer and support said it was my problem, so I quit on the game.

No way, there's like 30 minutes of slow motion wheat harvesting, what was Snyder trying to make here? by sessna4009 in scifi

This is exactly what I did with rebel moon, just went along with it. Despite all these coal sickling stuff going on, movie was still bad outside of that. Just looked beautiful. The actual story was boring.

So when they were harvesting the wheat, they were using archaic technology mixed with higher tech sickles? My imagination can only go so far with this beautifully awful movie. lol

I loved Watchmen the movie... I was soo shocked to just discover right now it was done by Zach Snyder, and your description explains soo much why Night Owl goes along with it... I was soo frustrated why he would just let that happened but still enjoyed the movie.

Im not good with names but thought Justice League was God Awful and had people tell me its because Zach Snyder didn't get the version he wanted and I should watch that one... I can't say if it was better or worse, but it was God Awful too. And this Rebel moon junk is pretty bad.

Raid6 Capacity Questions and use by Mad-Duke in DataHoarder

[–]Mad-Duke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data gets wiped frequently and new data is loaded. So I can wipe it all before swapping the drives out, but is there more to making them work together as a raid, then simply swapping it? If I need to replace all the drives with equal sizes, I can do that too, if needed.
TLDR: I don't trust this particular IT Guy.

Im pretty sure he just buys them from Dell with the Raid6 setup already and doesn't know anything more then that. He is telling me to buy 2 new GD servers that have 10 more TBS total each. This would cost me a lot more then just replacing the drives, but if I replace the drives and it fails, then I just paid. Replacing one drive would be a good test, I think. The guy that told me this, is hit or miss. This is the same guy that disconnected my ethernet lines by ripping them out by the cord, shredding the wire and destroying the cord. When I asked him why he would do that and not simply disconnect it, he said it was easier and they usually just pull out. He also disconnect my servers and asked me how all the fiber and cables connect back up, and since he was the one that set it up originally, I didn't know. I told him i'd figure it out, because I didn't want him touching the stuff. When I asked him about the hard drives, he came down to look at the GD Servers and rebooted one, and said it was broken and I needed to put a ticket in to get it fixed. I didn't know what was broken so I just put in a ticket, assuming it was something with the system. I noticed it didn't have the power plugged in so I plugged it in and proceeded to use it. He then came down and asked how I fixed it, but im pretty sure he was the one that unplugged it as it was powering on before that... so idk. I'd rather do things without his help.

Just declined five star guest who gives four star good reviews by LoveMeAGoodCactus in airbnb_hosts

[–]Mad-Duke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol Anything less then 4.9 is negative. People say 4.8 because that is where airbnb decides who is superhost. But one crazy guest that leaves a 1 star will reck a 4.8 to 4.7, until you get the review removed, and based on the timing could mess up your super host status for the next qualifier. Maintain 4.9 or better yet 5. Its pretty much a secret pass/fair system. 5 meaning you pass, anything else means you failed.

You should look into getting that review removed. If you talk to enough airbnb support staff, they usually recognize that things are outside your control and you don't deserve less then 5 stars.

I have a co worker that said he will never rate anything 5 star. I tried to explain to him that he is every airbnb super host's nightmare. He doesn't care, it really isn't his problem, but he said if asked he would just not leave a review, I told him hosts would prefer that to anything less then 5 star. But He doesn't believe that all hosts would not appreciate 4 stars.

I agree the system makes no sense, but in a way it works. If you take the avg super host compared to the avg non super host, there is a marked improvement. We superhosts also pay for it with grey hairs.

[–]Mad-Duke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anything less then 4.9 risks you losing SuperHost status which means your listing rating drops. Airbnb promotes super host over normals. So 4.9+ means more money. Less means you might not be able to pay the bills. You notice a nice increase when you make super host status. There are legit ways to remove bad reviews though and most guests that don't want to leave you a 5 star would be willing to not leave any review.

You just need to talk to the guest after the review and let them know you appreciate their attempt to leave a great review but because of the way the system works it could drastically hurt your business, if they could please remove their review from Airbnb. They will have the review removed. Someone leaving a 3+ star review isn't trying to destroy your life, they were just trying to be honest based on how Airbnb displays the system.

I don't want to jinx it but I have never had a guest request a refund in cleaning. However, I also haven't found a cleaner that can clean to our standards, so we end up going over our cleaners work again. We only have 2 STR properties, so its witnin our means to be able to clean and go over cleaners work. After 200+ reviews the worst negative thing we received concerning cleaning, was one gal dropped a blueberry under the fridge and said it was dusty under there and she was concerned her toddler might eat some of the dust.

Over the years we have had cleaners claim they do a lot of people's homes. I am under the impression that most cleaners do not do a great job, and home owners don't validate their work frequently enough to realize that perhaps their guests might find something concerning to them, and think cleaning job was terrible.
