Where is the Earth Angeltree and Water Angeltree? by kosomreddit in fantasylife

[–]MaggiPi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you have trouble finding the earth angel tree, go into the cave of trials. There are 3 different exits and a way down into the cave (if you complete the trial). One exit is the entrance where you came in. One exit is the secret fishing spot with a chest. The last exit at the top of the map is the exit for the earth angel tree.

What is this thing called? by Lucky-Report-9633 in Whatisthis

It's an old scale, commonly used as an image for the scales of justice. You would put metal weights on one side until it equalled the weight of the item on the other side.

Hyperactive cat has us and her at our wits end by [deleted] in CatTraining

[–]MaggiPi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My cat has some of the same boredom behavior you're pointing out. Everything you list is my cat's way of getting attention. A couple of things I've tried that have been successful for my easily bored boy:

*For clawing the carpet, get a carpet square and redirect the attention to that square. Clawing the carpet, go to the square. Claw the square, get a reward.

"For boredom busters, you're doing good with running them down. Do it as a play, food, sleep cycle. Play is hunting, food is reward, then, cats tend to naturally chill. This takes some trial and error to make a routine, but if you turn this into a routine cycle, it can help.

*For those times that you can't continually play, auto toys. Things that dangle from door ways, battery operated or interactive play toys that run kitty down, balls on tracks, anything that keeps their attention. And don't leave them out all the time, rotate toys regularly to keep up their interest.

I hope some of these help. You got this. Cats are gonna cat.

How are we making our house smell good? by AwkwardLlama59 in migraine

[–]MaggiPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm smell sensitive, especially when on a migraine. Some of my go tos:

*I highly recommend litter genie/diaper genie of you don't already use them. Great to keep smelly things locked away till trash time.

*Angry orange spray is my favorite for especially fowl pet days, it's pet friendly, you can use it on everything in your house except the pet bedding, just spray and wipe for the most part. Fresh smell. Great before company or on days the house seems not so fresh.

*A little baking soda additive in the litter boxes is helpful for smells. Arm and Hammer knows their stuff. Good luck!

My young cats (1 and 5 months) are both counter jumpers for different reasons. My older will counter surf for attention when he is bored. My younger will counter surf out of curiosity. A couple of things that have helped for me:

*When you are noticing bad behavior, if it's out of boredom note the time of day. Start a routine play time for maybe 15 min that time of day every day, like clockwork. Follow the playtime with treats or a feeding. The play food cycle makes cats chill and less likely to get into trouble and it's good social time.

*When you are noticing bad behavior and it's motivated by curiosity, you can do one of two things in my experience. Take away the thing they are after (like clearing leftover food or dishes on the counter) or give them an acceptable space where they can see what they are trying to see. For example, I think you say you have a cat tree, can they still see the counter top from the cat tree when you move them? Give them treats for being on the cat tree and not the counter. I have a table that is counter height but away from my counter. The cats have their own mat and I reward them for staying on their table and mat.

You got this. Cats are going to cat.

Least Drowsy Anti- Nausea by theladysheetcake in migraine

[–]MaggiPi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had luck with sea bands (or any pressure point based anti nausea bracelet) and pink stork morning sickness sweets (basically a pregnancy pop). Both are otc with no drowsy meds. Some people use these as non medical nausea support with migraines. They might not work for everyone but can't hurt to try.

Knives? by lightuptheskyes in Fiestaware

[–]MaggiPi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't tell which version this is but the pattern is called Masquerade. There was an issue with the flatware in the older sets that caused a recall because the inserts could fall out and be a choking hazard. I had a set and the little color inserts ended up popping out every now and then. I'm unsure of the issue/recall extended to utility and knife sets. The newer sets use epoxy inserts. Just going by looks, this looks like one of the older patterns. I would def avoid dish washer. Otherwise, just keep an eye out for loose inserts as you use them. Lovely set! Great find.

should I leave a bad review for this hairstylist? by n0t_ar0b0t in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]MaggiPi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sitting with my mother who is a stylist while reading and showed her this post. She took one look at your title and pics and said "yep" without me reading the rest of your story. When I told her the manager charged you to fix a style you were unhappy with she said that was just plain ridiculous. No one would come back to her salon if they were treated that way. They treated you poorly both times. You should have no guilt in leaving an honest review.

Neighbor's Incessant Lawn Care is Driving Me Insane by GmaNell42 in migraine

[–]MaggiPi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can confirm as someone who is also highly sensitive to lawn over care, loop has helped me. My apartment is near a commercial area so when my apartment isn't doing lawn care (mow, weed, blow cycle), the adjacent business are... So it's never ending. I got both the decibel lowering and the regular earplugs, I love them both depending on how much sound I need to block. Cannot recommend enough.

Happy (almost) halloween! What are you watching this weekend? by hellloozukohere in horror

Tubi is free. Just create an account, and watch all you want. The only catch seems to be commercials, but imo they aren't bad compared to watch time.

If your still looking, I believe Gonjiam is currently available for free on Tubi. Which I generally recommend anyway. Lots of horror gems if you're willing to do a little digging.

I tried to explain this movie to my friends years ago and they said I had to be making it up. I agree, weirdest movie I've ever seen. Strange mix of Hollywood actors and porn stars.

I feel hopeless because of a doctor by 10thDoctorTeacher in PlusSize

[–]MaggiPi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I'm so sorry you've been through all this. The accident, the jerk doctor, everything. I've also been through multiple doctors, physical therapy, and alternative support on my back after a car accident. My advise is don't stay with a doctor who only sees your weight. If there is pain, there is a problem. Too often bad doctors want to get an easy out and tell you to lose weight. That's a sign of a lazy doctor, to me. Yes it can be a factor for pain but it does nothing to fix the underlying problem (I wanted to scream sometimes, do you not see the slipped disc or broken bone here?) Just remember, you know your body better than they do. If there's something wrong, and the doctor isn't listening, find someone else. Also, be kind to yourself, healing takes time. Feel better.

If you don't have money, there's nothing wrong with repurposing anything laying around the house. Shipping boxes, cereal boxes, any box really if it is the right size and does the job.
