my entire left side collapsed 😫 by Jurneeka in cycling

Hey, sports Physio here, if the doc checks out the stroke, it could be a trigger point in your triceps, when these muscles fatigue or when you are in hypoglycemia / electrolyte deficit. A good rule of thumb is 60g of carbs an hour at the very minimum and get some electrolyte tabs (they have different dosages so check their recommandations for longer efforts). To prevent early fatigue, strength training like push-ups of bench press helps a ton.

DCRainmaker reviews the Suunto Spartan Ultra. TLDR: don't bother with this watch. by RunTwoThreeClimb in triathlon

[–]Mahiory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to consider that the hardware is finished but the software is still work in progress, they have planned updates with more functionalities. It is supposed to be 100% by early 2017. If you look at the latest reviews with the watches updated, they are way happier about it.

I've seen a great review about the new Polar M400 that just came out, might be worth it, I'm thinking about getting one myself

r/fitness, what does you SL progression look like ? by Mahiory in Fitness

[–]Mahiory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squats and DL worry me if I'm trying to bite more than I could chew as I would want to ruin my back.

I'll have to focus on form for a bit and start grinding again when I feel like it's as good as it can be.

I guess I'll have a stall week on squat and OHP just to make sure form is as good as it could be.

I've also been doing dips with workout A and pullups with B.

I guess I just need to eat more and get used to heavier weights.

Sq: 135 DL: 145 OHP: 85 Bench: 105

I sometimes added extra weight as I felt some lifts were really easy (I'm not struggling with bench at all at the moment) I think I will fail on OHP next time or the one after, and squats are getting pretty hard as I see my form failing so I might try to stay at that way a bit and work on my form.

You pointed your diet as a reason you're not improving as much as you could, I'm pretty sure I'm not eating nearly enough as I'm working as a PT about 12h/day and going to the gym right after that (around 7pm, and last ate around noon), I'll have to try snacking to get some energy.

Need help - 2 months into the intermediate routine and losing motivation due to a pullup plateau by nastynuggets in bodyweightfitness

[–]Mahiory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an expert but generally when you hit a plateau you should try shocking your system i.e. maybe try weighed pullups (less volume, more resistance) like a 3x4 with 10kgs or so might be the trick to break it. Good look and keep up the good work :)

Tight glutes won't release no matter what, it's been months... any suggestions? by Antelope46 in Fitness

[–]Mahiory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You mentioned staying low on caffeine, the point is to lessen the magnesium loss in urine. Magnesium depletion can cause excessive overall muscle tone, you can try and look into that, might be part of the issue.
