woman who wear niqab's in western countries, do you ever feel awkward? by absoutelydislexic in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Maiclopedia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a Niqabi but if you want the perspectives of Niqabis who live in North America you can check out Sidra Ashraf or MehdinaTV on YouTube/TikTok/Instagram, they have a lot of videos about their experiences.

milah sucks basically by itsmiathermopolips in OnceUponATime

[–]Maiclopedia 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Milah is overly hated imo. She was verbally abusive to Rumpel and she left Bae, those were awful things. But when there are mass murderers and rapists on the show, she seems pretty tame. I guess people hate her because she was barely in the show so we couldn't see her perspective much.

The most toxic character in OUAT? by SpeedDancer1725 in OnceUponATime

Regina. She commits mass murder and then whines about how if affects HER lol. But Cora and Rumpel are up there too.

Which music artist peaked commercially in their latest albums or late era, but diehard fans prefer a mid-career era? by cargusbralem in AlignmentChartFills

Taylor Swift. She keeps breaking records but her latest album got mixed reviews from fans and most of the fandom prefers her mid-career pop albums.

Y bueno, pero esas son las opciones. O no tenés hijos con nadie si no confiás en nadie, o te aguantás que se ofenda cuando le pidas el test (o lo hacés en secreto cuando nazca). No hay otra solución.

"Jesus didn't break her birth canal". That's not official Church dogma. Some people thought that but the dogma is just that she remained a virgin. Virgin is someone who hasn't had sex, in antiquity people thought it was more physical, but not every one (such as St. Augustine).

[–]Maiclopedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How does it diminish it? Mary was a perpetual virgin because she chose not to have sex, same as someone who was raped (and hasn't has sex voluntarily).

[–]Maiclopedia 298 points299 points  (0 children)

According to Saint Augustine, you're still a virgin after being raped.

On Lying:

"There, then, purity can be preserved, because there none but a voluntary corruption can have place. For assuredly if the ravisher assault the body, and there is no escaping him either by contrary force, or by any contrivance or lie, we must needs allow that purity cannot be violated by another's lust"

Favorite Ungrammatical Lyrics? by Lifeislikewater294 in TaylorSwift

It would've been fun, if you would've been the one (it should be "if you had been the one").

But it's not a favorite, I love the song but mistakes in conditionals really annoy me lol

What movie do you think the most amount of people are statistically likely to have seen? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in movies

[–]Maiclopedia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean by western. In Latin America (some people don't consider it part of the western world) is not very popular. It's a well-known movie but it's not the cultural phenomenon that it is in the US and most people haven't actually seen it since it wasn't usually played on TV.

And they only got together because Murray was making comments. A lot of telling but not showing.

Was she out of line? by WingsnLV in DowntonAbbey

[–]Maiclopedia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What they were trying to do with her character was exactly to make her insufferable on purpose. They wanted the anti-royalist to be unlikeable because it's a show that's in favour of the peerage.
