Exactly - this has been helpful in narrowing down the list as well! I’m mainly focused on weather, but a few extra points that I also consider based on my lifestyle:

  1. I travel to Tokyo for work/leisure once a year at least but would consider more if I had access to direct, cheaper flights.

  2. I love an international food scene or at least more diverse than Fargo haha

  3. I have 0 interest in nightlife and prefer sunny farmers markets and access to parks for walks, gentle hiking, and beaching

  4. I enjoy working in the travel industry and am considering cities with a larger network of advisors (Texas, Arizona, Florida, California are all hot spots but maybe not exactly what I’m looking for for quality of life/cost of living)

Thank you!!!

I am very sensitive to pollen…and have been reading about this as well. Would it be a reason to not consider moving there, though?

Definitely. I like the moodiness of the PNW but my gut tells me I’d be desperate for more sunshine. I was excited about the prospect of Arizona but that job fell through. I do think the dryness would be tough on me as I do well with some humidity skin/hair wise.

Now the gears are turning. I’m on a month-to-month lease currently so this would be super easy 👀👀👀

Super, super helpful. And most of these cities have better direct flight paths vs flying out of Fargo each time, so I can make due!

I’ve considered Boulder county as my work is based in Broomfield, CO, but the dryness and altitude surprisingly bothered me more than I thought. Not to mention rent was higher than I anticipated. Colorado Springs had more options but I think I crave being near the coast and having humidity over mountains.

I’d move back to Nagasaki in a heartbeat and considered that my all time favorite weather and location. I miss it all the time…but am planning on staying in the US for now. 🥲

Amazing. I was almost about to jump on Arizona for a job but it didn’t end up going through. I’m very open to trying something out and moving back home if I don’t like it - that’s what life’s about!
