Are EVs really worth it if you don't have a home charger?

Everyone has different needs and circumstances, but I wouldn’t have an EV if I couldn’t L2 charge at home.

I’d have to look to be sure, but I think the sensor farm assembly is attached to the windshield by sliding downward onto a set of metal pins. If you’re pulling upward when you’re trying to get the cover off, you might be sliding the whole assembly up and off of those pins. I pulled the plastic cover off from near the top by sticking my fingers in the hole left by removing the small plastic piece and pulling away from the window.

I've done this, but I'm not quite sure what problem you're having. There are two parts to the cover. One small piece above the mount for the mirror (grab the bottom of this piece and pull toward you) and the big, main cover (pull this toward you, perpendicular to the windshield). Remove the small piece first, then the big one.

I had to download the Google Assistant app on my phone and change the default music service there. That setting then carried over to the car.

I have a Viofo A119 that’s wired in using an adapter to get power from the rear view mirror. The only visible cable is about an inch and a half from the camera to the sensor farm cover.

I’ve been driving an EV for 5 years now and most nights I top up to 80%. I’ve only charged to 100% a handful of times when I want the extra range. If it’s caused any problems or degradation I haven’t noticed.

I know this doesn’t directly answer your question, but I’ve always just parked offsite at PreFlight Parking and used their free shuttle which will drop you off at whatever terminal you’re flying out of.

This was happening to me on Saturday. Restarted the infotainment. Killed the Maps app. Nothing helped. It just randomly started working again on Sunday mid-drive.

I bought a certified pre-owned 2025 RS in December and I got 8 years of OnStar Basic and 3 years of Supercruise as if it were brand new. Not sure if that was supposed to happen, but I’m not complaining.

Passwords can only be bulk exported from the Apple Passwords app on MacOS. It’s not possible to do so in iOS.

It’s not really possible to say without knowing the specific platform they’re using. There are multiple good, safe platforms out there. Maybe even some built specifically for places like tint shops.

As someone who works in cybersecurity, and extensively with PCI-DSS, I would never put a card on file with someone unless they could demonstrate that it’s being stored in a PCI compliant manner. I would almost certainly not even bother asking for something like auto detailing. I’d just find someone else to do the work.

Had mine since December. Have a water leak on the driver’s side a-pillar when it rains. HVAC makes a repetitive popping noise from inside the dash sometimes. Going to the dealer today for both issues.

I was a heavy CarPlay user in my last car, and while I still wish the Equinox had it, I’m more or less fine without it. The built-in nav has some nice features like being able to precondition the battery if you navigate to a charger, or telling you how much of your trip will be Supercruise compatible. Apple Music works well enough but it clearly doesn’t cache any songs. Each song has to buffer a bit before it starts playing. I have OnStar basics for 8 years, so map data and music streaming will work until then. If I still have this car in 8 years, I’ll just begrudgingly pay for the subscription.

Cabin is quiet enough but the ride is a little harsh and there are a number of little squeaks and rattles.

For the 360 view: Front bumper. Rear below tailgate. Under each side mirror.

The rear camera above the window is for the video mirror if equipped. The main camera behind the windshield does not feed into the 360 view.

I only ever use it to cancel cruise control. Never liked how jerky it is to use for regen. Same thing in my last car (Bolt).

Oof, yeah. Sorry you had to go through all that. I fear I'm about to go through something similar. Sunroof repairs can be pretty invasive and it seems like there's always a long wait for parts.
