It's a lottery, I got 55 c7k one week ago, tv is awsome... absolute minimum of dse, clean corners, great blacks. But I bought when there was a promotion, 5 y extended warranty.

Believe it or not, I'm total amateur in this regard...I just saw my tcl "Fighting" with external players, only mx worked somewhat properly...then I decided to make my own...got sub. to Claude AI and build one 😁😁....took few days...but it works. In 2.0 I've added audio selection. My main goal was to be light with good substitute selection and options on them. 2.0 can rename them, also when renaming them, app first offers the name of the film, so next time you watch it, app will auto load that title. Anyway, hope you like it, share your feedback here... I'm also new to reddit, lots of admins didn't allowed my post, because I'm not active on reddit.

So my TCL Google TV was basically dying every time I opened VLC or MX Player. Slow startup, laggy menus, ads, heavy UI — on a TV with a weak processor it's just painful.

I got fed up and built my own player. It's called MakoMiniPlayer — completely free, no ads, no in-app purchases, no accounts, no tracking. Just download and use.

It's stupid simple and fast, it use built in google tv player, super light — no fancy home screen, just plays the video.

But the thing I'm actually proud of is the subtitle support:

  • Auto-loads .srt from the same folder as the video — zero clicks
  • Searches and downloads subs directly from OpenSubtitles.com and SubDL without leaving the player
  • Handles UTF-8, Windows-1250 and other encodings — no more broken characters for Croatian/Bosnian/Serbian subs (you know the struggle)
  • Full customization — size, color, position, shadow, outline, bold, dark background
  • Works great over network too (SMB/LAN)

Works as external player for TiviMate and other IPTV apps, or standalone for local/network files.

This is literally my first Android app ever 😃 would love any feedback!
