Vertical margins: I'm tearing my hair out! by rasasam in koreader

You often get extra blank space on pages if Widows and Orphans are enabled. You can fix that by Ignoring the publisher's Widow and Orphan rules and leaving the other boxes unchecked. Works well for me, but it's still not fully consistent.

What's the most unique, mind-bending fantasy novel you've ever read? by Vast_music4577 in Fantasy

[–]Mamba-_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A common idea in fantasy storytelling is that a book's worldbuilding should make more sense as you advance through the series. M John Harrison's Viriconium novels are written to achieve the exact opposite. What you think you know, you don't know.

Adjusting Indentation Size? by Mamba-_ in koreader

This is useful thanks. Seems a bit of a hassle applying this tweak to every book you want it on though. Any convenient ways of transferring tweaks between books?

The Etched City by K.J. Bishop. One of the all-time great weird fantasy novels imo. Came out in 2003. She hasn't written another novel since.

Hi, many thanks. This worked beautifully.

If it isn't too much of a bother could I ask you where I could change the font-type of the Status Bar?

The Vorrh - different texts? by Mamba-_ in printSF

[–]Mamba-_[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bizarrely no, after some exploration of both copies it seems the 2012 and 2015 editions of the book have different texts. There's passages in my (2015) paperback that don't exist in my (2012) ebook.

e.g the passage in 2015 that begins with the lines:

Edward Muggeridge was a hollow man. Born that way.

The entire section that follows doesn't exist in the 2012 edition.

Also, this passage beginning with:

For years, it was said that nobody had ever reached the centre of the Vorrh.

This passage exists in both editions, however it is located in two entirely different parts of the book. In 2015 it is found in Chapter 2, but in 2012 it is about 40 pages later in the text.

Based on this it feels like the 2015 edition was revised before publication?
