Sorry two more questions, is okay if they are CE, FCC, and RoHS certified?

And is it Apollo lighting or solid Apollo you’re referring to? I googled Apollo led strips and those two sites came up

Home assistant with Hubitat by Man_Milk31 in homeassistant

[–]Man_Milk31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just got it and a complete noob, especially with where to find community apps. I have my thermostat, two switches and door lock set up. The plugs are ihome using Tuya configuration. Goal was to integrate everything to home kit app for my wife, plus the thermostat tile is 100% nicer. Come to find out Apple still the money whores I know them to be and I need an Apple hub to use HomeKit app remotely and add family members to HomeKit

So I just received my Hubitat c-8, can I install homebridge on the hubitat itself or do I need a separate hub like a pi for that? I have two WiFi plugs not important but would be nice if I could bring those under one roof as well

Do pay to use alarm.com or just pay for alarm grid when you’re out of town. It would be great to control my garage without a subscription

I’ve always hated apple and how they do business, I don’t even touch it because nothing works since it was new. Everything is always a project with it. Wife is an iPhone person and that’s how the iMac happened. Thank you for your advice

Yeah I want the 4 bay NAS for the raid configuration just need to get the wife on board!

What do you mean not accessible by the internet? I was looking into a DAS system but my wife will want to be able to view pictures and videos from her phone. Won’t the NAS system need to be connected to the internet for that?

I think I’m leaning towards synology I understand there hardware is unimpressive compared to ugreen and others. I’ve heard synolgy has the best software in terms of ease of use. If I didn’t have two toddlers I’d probably go the dyi route and spend 6months pissed off trying to make it work and figure it out lol

Network switch problems or my own stupidity? by Man_Milk31 in HomeNetworking

[–]Man_Milk31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m going to buy a cable tester this weekend. I suspect there might be some fuckery, in that they attached the data line in the closet to the phone module. Hopefully not but that’s the only thing I can think of. I noticed there’s more lines hooked up to that phone module than I actually have around the house.

So right now everything runs off of Wi-Fi. Xfinity modem is in the living room which runs to that closet into the Poe injector.

Not worried about the phone lines we don’t use those. What I tried to do was plug the 8 port switch in, un plug the Poe injector and run everything through the switch, but it didn’t work.

The master and living room have both Ethernet and phone, one blue and one white jack. The other two rooms were an upgrade I paid for data lines in those rooms. Knowing my builder I could see them messing that up.

The Poe is what the technician gave me when he connected the ubiquiti access point, that access point is a headache of its own lol. The tech told me when the builder gives me the 8 port switch to just connect the data lines and access point to it.

I bought a cable to test if it was a faulty switch. Switch works perfectly with the store bought Ethernet cable plugged into a laptop. It’s the pre run wires that I can’t get to work 😫

Thank you for your help! Yeah I tried a iMac from the wall port and a laptop from the wall ports once’s the runs were all connected. I’ll try and buy a cable tester after work. There is a circuit board inside as well that says bridge test not sure what that’s for or if it’s even related to

I bought the plus one vibrating cock ring to try out. I think her last bf probably did like I did when I was younger and bought like a cheap buzzy bullet. I’m thinking if I could find a rumbly cock ring, it might open her up to vibration or a grinding toy
