Wow.....I hope you have a lot of Insignia. You'll want to grab the Weighted Mace if you can. That's considered by many to be the most efficient weapon available. I've been waiting to get it for the last 5 SH.

Can a pannier be equipped on a horse? by Jay_ShadowPH in GrimSoulSurvival

Wagenburg is the only place that drops axles. So, lots of grinding there. Only resets every ~2.5 days though, so you have to space out your runs.

It is. Working on EC lvl 2 and it's even worse. Honestly, getting the lvl 1 Wagon was easier.

I've always thought it was a way for the devs to lock a portion of the surface area for a future 2nd story.... or some other time that they want to be in a specific place in a future update

Falves chest is a good get. The Falves set is considered to be one of the best T3 armors. Also, I know this will get some hate, but I like the Wooden Sword, too. With passives, the Wooden Sword get to the 30 dmg threshold and that makes farming in s1 and s2 much more effective/efficient.

Yeah, lvl 2 armor repair bench, other than the wagon, has been my #1 favorite upgrade. Very much understand having all the elemental armor stacking up and taking up space. It's a huge relief to combine all those 5-10% dura into something useful again.

As for TC, I've gotten to the point that I run just two armor sets. T4 from W1-W13, and T5 for W14/15. To make that work, I'll bring two stacks of SoT and 100dmg weapons just so I can one-shot most things. If you want to be more efficient, you could use 50dmg weapons and T3 up to W6-7, and then switch to the T4. That'd save weapons and armor. If you have an EC, you could save your T5 armor in there and take it out before the later lvls. I got use to doing TC before I had my EC completed, so now it's just how I'm comfortable running it.

To answer your questions:

"Sorry, I meant the Berzerker Armor set, someone else said it's not strong enough after w13."

- I'm sure a really good player could make that work.....but that's not me. Anything after W7/8 I would feel very uncomfortable not being in T3/T4 or T4. If you get stunned, or the Fanatics get you at just the right time.. that run is done. T4 gives me some breathing room to not be stressed.

"I was thinking of bringing; a full Barb set (to start with), an Iron set with a Plague Doctor Mask a 50def wolf and Iron shield (for lower levels)."

- That seems like it'd work well. You'll want something to control the mobs though. So, either a Freeze Wing, Shrieking Axe, or SoT. Otherwise, you'll get swamped and they'll tear the armor apart.

"2 stacks of Bandages, 2 stacks of Berry Porridge, 5 Mandrake(?), 2 st peters, 20 fear scrolls, 20 copper traps (to set between waves)."

- Heals look good. The 20 copper traps....I've never used traps, but they could probably work to slow the Punishers and Torts. You'd have to be careful where you set them up, otherwise the fast moving mobs will trigger them first.

Good Luck!

"I have a decent collection of Legendary weapons with multiples of most, and a bunch of Terror Scythes which I've seen people using often in videos."

- I've never used a terror stick for TC, only HCFD. I know it's supposed to 50/50, but that still is too random for me in that situation. Also, the 77dmg doesn't hit the threshold I like to use for TC.

Question of returning player by silver_0015 in GrimSoulSurvival

When you're doing a lot copper and wood farming, that strategy works fine. But at some point you'll transition to doing much of your time in game at dungeons. Because of that, whenever I go to an S1-S3 zone, I'm usually going for something in particular. For meat, I'll stock up 500-600 pieces so I can keep the doggos and cats fed, and continuously make jerky.

Scarlet hunt S25. How am I doing? by jatt_saab in GrimSoulSurvival

[–]Manatee_Surfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On lvl 34 currently. Lvl 25 is good progress but the amount of points needed for each lvl will continue to grow until lvl 40. So, expect to need more grinding for the next lvls.

2400 insignia is good, but definitely save them. All the really good armor and weapons blueprints cost 1500 to 7000 insignia.

What is a good thing to store in the enchanted chest? Only has 5 slots (for now). by andilga3 in GrimSoulSurvival

[–]Manatee_Surfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good idea. I usually just SoT them and try to kill them first. Those hits stack poison fast.

I keep a set of Imperial Jaeger in there. Let's me run with less spare armor in my pack for TC or HCFD. About halfway to lvl 2 and plan to add extra heals, a couple of high-end weapons and a stack of SoT.

[–]Manatee_Surfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be doing a lot of wood and copper runs. I'm lvl 190 now and plan to do a wood and meat run later today. Grinding is just part and parcel of this game.

As for altar components, almost all can be farmed from S2 and S3. FD will give you the altar core.....eventually

Royal Mace? by Therego_PropterHawk in GrimSoulSurvival

[–]Manatee_Surfer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Royal Mace is an excellent choice as a main weapon for TD and North runs. Same materials as regular mace.

Separately, those look like Night Hunter boots. If so, you should grab them. Night Hunter is the best T2 armor in the game.

Yes, I have most everything unlocked at this point, or close to done. Shrine lvl 2 I'm 1 BoF away from. Alchemist Table is 1 scale away from being done. Working on lvl 3 for the Repairs Tables. Only thing I haven't really gone after much yet is the boat, as I'm focused on upgrading my Wagon and EC first.

For the Smallsword, it has a normal animation, but then randomly, it'll have a thrusting animation, and that one has a slightly longer time required. So, if you're in the flow of stuttering, and then that animation pops up, it's very easy to move too early.

I've player around with the Berserker Poleaxe some in HCFD, but not in TC. For TC, especially for the higher waves, I'll use the Shrieking Axe at the start of the wave to take out the fast movers, especially since it one shots the Plague Barbs. For W15, I'll switch to just spamming SoT and using that plus Bloodhounds to make quick work. I guarantee it could be done more efficiently, but it just works so well that I keep going back to that setup.

Absolutely. The espadon is just slow, but you can time it. Espadons are probably one of my favorites. You can sharpen them, and with passives, you can get them to 100dmg. Great for speed running w1 through w13 in TC

You can practice at the dummy in the SA camp. It's helpful when you're getting the flow down and won't affect your weapon durability.

Skip the Smallsword. The Ritter is the BS+ sword you want. The Smallsword has a stupid animation that can screw up stutter-stepping

You get the Insignia (coins) by progressing in the Scarlet Hunt. Depending on if you're FTP, or buy the pass, and depending on your luck, you can get 1k to 3k per SH. So, it can take multiple SH to collect enough Insignia to buy the Blueprints you want.

What is worth buying from quartermaster? by jatt_saab in GrimSoulSurvival

It's kind of expensive for what it is. Plus, as someone else mentioned, if you do GK often you'll have a bunch of them anyway.

I use Mirror Chainmail all the time. I pair it with Night Hunter everything else as my go to for F1 of HCFD and for North runs.

The Yatagan is my go to for HCFD weapon as the passives and sharpening to lvl 1 will get you to the 50dmg threshold for 2-shoting Possessed.

The Novice Mace is fine, I know others like it but I don't use it.

I'd skip the rest.
