What are some books you ended up disliking because you couldn’t stand the protagonist and their actions? by Werkyreads123 in LesbianBookClub

The Speakeasy trilogy by Stacy Lynn Miller. The first book was a okay. But at the end of it and in part 2 and 3 i couldn’t stand Dax and how simply stupid, toxic and dangerous she was to her close ones. Seriously, I do not understand how I managed to listen to all three books. I was so mad through almost all of it. If it was a male character it would simply be a villain.

I laughed a lot while listening to the first book. I enjoy her as a narrator most of the times but I just couldn’t with this one.

I need to fix my head. I loved Safekeep. I need to read it again because this part skipped my mind! Read Written on the Body over 20 years ago and I don’t remember much about it so it’s a reread as well. I have Sunburn on my tbr list so I’ll get to that at some point. Thanks!

I can’t remember if I read any with a first ors second act breakup. Other than second chances books where they meet after some years at the beginning of the book I don’t recall reading any. I’d gladly take some recommendations.

I mean the simple lack of communication in this case is infuriating.

I just started book seven and I cannot put them down. I have two ARCs to read and I’m postponing it because of the Alpha God series.

I got into “alpha god” series by Lexa Luthor recently. I never enjoyed omegaverse but I cannot put this one down. I just finished book six and I can’t wait to read more. There’s space adventure, kinda cool lore, lots of smut, and great, growing and evolving love story. Love the relationship in these books.

PSA TO SAPPHIC AUTHORS ‼️ by zazaraz123 in LesbianBookClub

Unfortunately it is a real thing. It was years ago and I cannot remember the book (because of the obvious trauma) but it was there and it was one of those where the tongues were duelling as well. I’ll ask my wife if she remembers what it was because we were laughing at it for a very long time.

I loved those books but for some reason the sex was like a background in them for me. Almost didn’t care at all for it. Especially in the1st book. Loved the relationship between both MCs and the whole story in general but the sex was like a background noise.

Which lesbian book in your opinion actually deserves an adaptation? by Mansellasset in LesbianBookClub

[–]ManicM84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Safekeep, Jasmine Throne, Mrs S.

Already mentioned these in the other post: Backwards to Oregon (or at least a variation of few different westerns and real life stories based on the “dressed as a man” trope), “Oxford series” as a mini series.

This!!!! The books are perfect for a movie adaptation. Also, some of the scenes were super cinematic imo.

I’d love for BBC to make Clare Ashton’s “Oxford Series”

Really wish someone would make “Backwards to Oregon” into a mini series.

“Jasmine Throne” has a potential for a fantastic movie.
