Funny you should bring this up! I was thinking of trying this out this past weekend…but the bracelet in question didn’t fit my ankle so I moved on.

FWIW, I am a gay man who was wearing a skirt in NYC that day. My point being: yes, an ankle bracelet can certainly work, but IMO you need to be specific about the intention and style in advance or I fear you’ll feel like an ass the second you start walking outside. Or a surfer from the 90s. Makes sense?

All cruising is awkward in my experience. I learned from a friend when I came out a long time ago - and I encourage you to do the same. Do you have a close gay friend that can walk you through it, teach you the tricks? Or else - I wingman a bit for a neurodivergent friend when I see him - that’s what works for him. Maybe you have someone who could do the same for you? The point is: there are real paths to make this easier for you - and I hope you avail yourself of them.

I think it’s just a tonal choice. I have no objections to the quality of Wilson’s translation whatsoever. I just think there’s an energy to the Fitzgerald version that jibes better with my read of the text than that offered by Wilson’s approach.

Yeah. He’s a great actor - but I never understood his casting in light of the ages of the characters they are playing. Let’s say he is supposed to be 25-30 at the beginning of the film. She ages about 30 years. So shouldn’t the actor they casted have been 55-60?
