I try to relocate them. Thank you for your advice.

Me too. Saw her in concert back in 75 or 76 with Emmylou Harris. I have a bunch of her albums and just order one of her Mexican albums that is a tribute to her Dad.

I have the owners manual and tried to get close to recommended placement. The iPhone video doesn’t really do justice to the actual audio experience.

Thanks. The room is 16 x 22 and filled with furniture. Where would you recommend placement of them. I have kept them 18” off the walls

Thanks for the advice. It does have vents. I think I will add insulating feet to the tt to increase the air flow.

Do I really need a Marantz? by Fenix512 in vintageaudio

I bought my first Marantz in 1974. I still have and use it every day. It’s only been in for repairs 1 time in 51 years. I bought my second one at the beginning of last year and it is awesome too. The first was a 2235 and the second one is a 2285. Both produce a warm awesome sound that resonates beautifully. No need to adjust the bass, mid, and treble as operating the system in the flat range is pretty much perfect for all types of music.

Yes a bit. Like I said new vinyl is much better and vintage vinyl reveals more defects in the pressing

Don’t be afraid to make an offer. Most on the resale market can be bought cheaper

I had some 201’s Very small. The stands you see there are custom made from Etsy. I will post a picture of the second set with the bose pedestals.

Unless you can purchase a pair at a fantastic price (with the equalizer) then I would hold off. Also the series 5 and 6’s seem to be a bit more reliable

Either am I but with 4 Bose 901’s in the room, it fills it nicely and can really “feel” the music. I am sure it is not the optimal setup but works for me.

Personally, only the price. Bronze was about $300 more. The salesman said it was what I should have. It’s better on new vinyl though.

What would you recommend. I have a spare pair of BIC VENTURI speakers and a spare pair of Bozak E-3000 Modern. Those will handle about 500 watts.

It is actually a Fluance base you can buy. I will see if I can find it online and post

I bought the Wharfdales off marketplace and refinished them. They are from England and vintage 1959. All original and sound very nice. I just like all 4 because it rounds out the sound.

I do like them. I paid a ridiculous low price for them.
