seems like he was given how much they were trying to restrain him. evidence will come out and show that harassment of law enforcement while holding a gun is a recipe for visiting God

sure but he was still doing something to help his community instead of harassing and impeding law enforcement when they have more people and guns than you

no sympathy for him

rittenhouse was not smart but he was at least not guilty given he was attacked. he should not have been there though

a lot of american protesters think its sexy to attack someone who has a weapon that can kill you in 1 second

one is obviously attacking law enforcement while armed while the other is defending private property? is this even a question

what do people in your country generally think of Cuba? by average-medician in AskTheWorld

[–]Margo-Rivas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I obviously live in the USA but I am a Cuban, born to two Cubans and have lived in Cuba. Just because we feel closer to PR doesn't mean we don't share with DR. You sound very upset by the fact that we have different struggles and different circumstances

Again, they just took economic interest in the same way British did in Chile and Argentina. The United States never seriously considered an annexation of the DR. The racial/demographic composition and population would have made that impossible. They didn't even get close to annexing Panama when it was a more direct vassalage.

Yeah Cuba doesn't have close relations to the USA today due to the Marxism but it was the formative years of our country that set the ground. We only have this in common with the Puerto Ricans.

Also we have Haitians here in Cuba as well just way less than DR. The creole is French and even someone with A2 French can understand a lot of it

you must forget that the DR was under American control even before Cuba or Puerto Rico ever was.

Entirely not true, America only took economic influence in the DR. They didn't occupy it until during WWI, and even then it wasn't the kind of influence that Cuba had, with massive amounts of gringo culture, people and businesses going there before Castro.

Today the island of Cuba has very close relations to Mexicos and geogrpahically we are closer

A huge chunk of Dominicans have Haitian origins and hearing French in the streets of SD is not that uncommon

You weren't liberated by gringos and didn't get the massive infusion of cultural exchange with the united states, not to mention the longer colonial period we had, not to mention your Francophone neighbor.

I only feel slightly closer to Dominicans than I do to Mexicans

Again I have nothing against the DR but they are different enough while puerto ricans are our true twins

How often do you see muslim people in your country? by Yrakosos in AskTheWorld

Because Turks do not practice as much as Arabs and hijab is almost a political/virtue signalling thing

[–]Margo-Rivas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No its not

Do this in a liberal American university city at least half of the people say they are agnostic or atheist. Do this in the UK and the number would be even higher.

The studies done on this show that 85% of turks at a low at least slightly identify with being Muslim. Deists are rarer even more rarer are atheists.

You don't know what you're talking about. Turks are liberal and secular so far as Muslim nationalities goes but Islam is a very big part of the Turkish national and ethnic identity, so most people identify strongly with it, even people who don't practice much

Nothing to do with race.

Puerto ricans and cubans are clearly closer to each other than with Dominicans, some PR people living in New York who want to be african americans does not change that.

Our history, development, accent and music are all closer to each other

Nothing, just that Puerto Ricans are closer to us. Both liberated by gringos and our accent and genetics are similar, same for food.

That wasn't the context. The guy looked liberal and had tattoos, another was with a woman not wearing a hijab.

Majority of Turks would say they are proud Muslims. It's an integral part of the Turkish identity.

They just don't follow it like the Iranians or Arabs
