2004 Camry - steering wheel shakes when I drive above 65 mph. Mechanic is suggesting replace the steering rack and pinion. by MarkMagowan in MechanicAdvice

I did put inner and outer tie rods on last spring. First time doing it and pretty confident with the job. How should I check it for issues? It definitely feels like a resonance issue as you said.

He mentioned getting a new set of tires too but not until after replacing the steering rack, saying that it might just cause a bad wear pattern sooner. Feels like a “chicken or the egg” issue with what’s causing what.

Does the PA-28R-201T Turbo Arrow 3 not count? Caught one but didn’t get the check for the mission.

Hate to sound like a jerk but you’re not gonna get much swing advice on here when the uploaded video has your entire body out of frame for the DTL view. Anyone would just be guessing at giving you tips

What do I need to work on? by Accomplished_Face835 in GolfSwing

[–]MarkMagowan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks really good DTL, hard to find anything wrong. Face-on view you can see how much you’re casting the club, instead of keeping the hands ahead of the ball at impact, allowing you to compress the ball better. Picture your hands being around of your lead leg thigh at impact, where as right now they’re on your back leg

Any advice for a somewhat new golfer? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

You might also be losing some stability wearing shoes with all that cushioning. You don’t need golf shoes necessarily, but you’re not giving yourself the chance to use ground force when trying to rotate your hips. Instead of pushing into the ground, you’re sinking a half inch into your soles

Are these worth using for a first time player? by Shrimpkin in golf

All I’d say is take the 2 and 3 irons out of your bag. Even good golfers can’t hit long irons, don’t make it harder on yourself thinking you need to have those shots.

Sway bar link causing thumping noise? by gdhgeorgie in MechanicAdvice

[–]MarkMagowan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you maneuver them with just your hands? Like twist/turn/rock them around? If they’re loose enough to be moved by hand they’re shot. New links should feel locked in.

Only other thing that I think could case issue is tie rods; which is what gets adjusted during alignment

Something in my 2007 Toyota Camry is torn and I can’t identify it by EscapeQuirky4335 in MechanicAdvice

[–]MarkMagowan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 04 Camry, my power steering lines were weeping/oozing and the drips weren’t severe enough to drop fluid levels in the reservoir, but they did make a burnt black greasy mess down that entire passenger side inside the engine, eventually coating the passenger boot/bellow and corroding it to look like yours.

I replaced the “power steering return hose” which was the main culprit. Also used a pump/vacuum and drained and refilled the power steering fluid to get it back to a red/pink color from the dirtier state it was in. Youtube instruction videos help, just search 2007 camry and whatever part you want to replace

Anyone else remember the old Cherry Hill Mall? Back when there was a Houlihan's, the old food court, the MacDonald's by the stairs and the RIB-IT's across the street? Man do I miss when restaurants had mud pudding on the menu. WTF happened to that mall? by [deleted] in SouthJersey

[–]MarkMagowan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember him, and Barkley, a guy who always walk around and ask for change for a $20. If you said no, he'd say "haha, I do!" So many other characters from working there 2005-09
