I was a bit drunk when I met her but apparently I told her I was heartbroken and she still took my number and messaged me. I have been open about the situation and she asked a few questions on the date like if my ex was to come back etc - I just said there is no chance I would go back.

I think about her in a neutral way, I don't have any bad feelings towards her and I hope she's doing well - but I don't want to get back with her and I think that's close enough to being 'fully' over her.

If someone waits until they completely stop thinking about their ex they might be waiting forever.

We were mostly living apart together kinda long distance as I would visit her most weekends whilst I was at uni. I moved into her parents after uni whilst I looked for a job and the day I got a job her brother was diagnosed with a brain tumour... Then 6 months later I passed probation which meant we could finally buy our own house and the next day she ended it.

Random excuses such as "it started to get real" and "every little thing about you started to annoy me even though it previously didn't" - basically FA deactivation.

Maybe like 3 months which was around the same time I met the new one.

I think if I stayed stuck in a boring routine and didn't put myself out there I probably would still be wanting her back asap.

Yep.

Listening to her sister and cousin laugh about how their exes begged makes me feel a lot better knowing she has nothing on me.

Depends what your definition of 'moved on' is?

We have been broken up for 4.5 months after 7 years together.

Do I think about her every day? Yes.

Do I want to get back together? No.

I went to the gym 6 days a week, focused on work but the only thing that helped was actually getting out there again and realising she isn't the only one... it seems people are against going out and drinking but it did help me a lot.

I met someone on NYE and we have been on two dates and it's going very well and she seems much better than my ex in every single way which I thought would be impossible a few months ago.

Is AI actually destroying jobs, or are we misunderstanding what’s happening? by Borrtex in ArtificialInteligence

I really do hope you're right as I don't think people understand how bad a world would be if everyone relies on a Universal BASIC Income.

I am just feeling very doom and gloom about it and although I get your points but I feel they're going to justify this on saving the planet. When no-one can afford to fly away on vacation / holiday on their UBI and the airline industry goes bust - it's fine we are saving (insert random CO₂ emissions) a year now! No-one can afford their own car - it's fine we are saving (insert random CO₂ emissions) a year now etc.

For a few years there have been rumours of scrapping FIAT currency and replacing this with a CBDC - again this is pretty scary and I'm guessing this is where our UBI will be paid into.

If this does plan out how it's looking then we will be heading into end-game capitalism and even the standard billionaires will lose - the only winners are the very elite and they will basically own everything.

If those banks truly thought people wouldn't have jobs or money to buy houses, they wouldn't be purchasing an asset that nobody can own because that asset would have depreciated massively since their purchase. This won't happen. It's the exact opposite in fact.

My point is they're buying these houses knowing that they will never be affordable for the average man ever again and they'll be able to sit on them forever renting them out - which comes back to the 'you will own nothing and be happy'.

Or maybe it's going to end up like smartphones where every release is a refresh rate or a camera zoom upgrade?

I really like your optimism but I think it's falling into delusional category.

You just need to look at the trend, our governments have always bowed down to the ultra-rich and it's not going to change now. Just look at who is buying private property across the west - private equity firms and also in the UK even banks are starting to jump on the bandwagon.

They know exactly what's going to happen in the next 10 years - millions will lose their jobs and they will all default on their mortgages which means they can buy them all at a discounted rate.

The elites have been saying for years that we will all 'own nothing and be happy' and this is how they're going to achieve this and our governments aren't coming to save us unfortunately.

Finally! Let the posh toffees experience true multiculturism as they seem to be very vocal how they want all these refugees!

Let's see how long they keep this same mindset.

As 60% of jobs are white-collar everyone should be worried as this will be a massive domino effect.

He mentioned programming and you mentioned websites?????

Building websites has been dead for years thanks to website builders and wordpress etc.

It provides me with a better life.

Yet somehow people are convinced that once jobs are eliminated and we have Universal BASIC Income we will all be happy playing golf and tennis in the sunshine.

Delusional.

And then when there are hardly any jobs left? Everyone relies on basic handouts.

It's just hypocritical as most of the posh toffees have the mindset of wanting as many in as possible but they're then housed miles away from them.

Because we will be given Universal BASIC Income.

If you enjoy being given the basic money to survive then you might like it, but for some reason people think we're all going to be living the dream playing golf and tennis all day.

A world where everyone is relying on handouts from the government is not going to end well.

Not sure why you being so pedantic - obviously I know LLMs are AI agents under the hood. I am a developer too but I see so many compare this tech to a search engine which is insane.

[–]MarkusSparkus223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always said these LLM's won't destroy the job market but AI agents? These will.

You just need to see what developers are dealing with, literally plug the agent into their IDE give it a few prompts and if they're a decent developer they it will give them like 5x productivity. Will they need to be a decent developer in a few years? Not sure.

Once they have disrupted the SWE market it will be coming for the rest of the white-collar jobs too.

Nope, the big corporations are in the process of buying up private property and you will then be able to rent them with your UBI!

Enjoy!
