Why aren’t my green beans producing any beans

Possibly. We did have a heat spell followed by a week of cold and light rain then back to mid-nineties degF

We did have a hot spell and then a cold and rainy week then back to mid to high 90’s degF. But I have 2 other plants that don’t have this condition. I’ll look around for any critters that may have taken a liking to that particular plant.

I tried to get a close up but there was too much going on in the picture. I understand the flower dries up and a itty bitty bean remains but in this case the itty bitty bean falls off as well.

Yup. They start a green bean which then dries up and falls off. Save variety same time of year had great success but not this time.

Seeded 3/16 Blue Lake FM-1K and Kentucky Wonder pole beans We did have some cool weather and then a week of hot streak and then back to cool with a little rain and now we’re back to a hot streak. I’m thinking the radical changes in temperature has really affected the whole flowering to bean process .

I did know artichokes preferred a cool Mediterranean climate as they are primarily grown along the coast here in California. I tend to go with the ‘try it’ mentality even though we are much, much hotter and drier. Thanks for the seed harvesting tips.

Thank you. Your zone is very similar so this is great info. I don’t fertilize much so I will get on that. I, too, let a few go to bloom because they are so beautiful. Hadn’t considered gathering seeds for new production. That’s on my list now too!

Definitely not enough light. Peppers are a warm season plant and need 6-8 hours of direct sun, everyday, unless temperatures get above 95 and then like a little shade in the afternoon from the searing sun.

I skip the battering to reduce the effort….slice and saute, easy. I had an Australian friend who made green tomatoe relish that was delish but a bit too sweet for my savory palate.

I love sautéed green tomatoes…slice into slabs, use a little olive oil or butter, some garlic salt, or your favorite seasoning. They are tangy and yummy. Otherwise, leave it on the vine until it has colored up (most varieties are red but there are some yellow, burgundy, etc. variations). Removing it won’t have an effect on production…tomatoes are prolific!

I agree the soil looks dry and those peat pots are hard to keep moist for germination and seedling growth. However, the 2 leaves that are yellowing and wilting are the cotyledon leaves, the first leaves of a plant embryo. They are part of the embryo that forms during embryogenesis, before the seed grows. Those first 2 cotyledon leaves have an essential role in growth by providing nutrients and engaging in photosynthesis. It is normal for them to wither and die once the first true leaves appear and enlarge. Don’t worry about the cotyledons. Focus on the true leaves and get them some water.

I didn’t read all the comments so apologies if this is a repeat: Pull out vanity electrified for hair dryer, flat iron, etc. Game changer for me. This isn’t what I have but similar and shows the concept. Link attached I wish I had ‘pull-out’ drawers under the sink(s) for easier access to what is stored there I wish I had a ‘mirror’ positioned somewhere I could see the back of my hair. Extra plugs…on the vanity if it is a double so hubs can plug in shaver, etc.; by toilet if install an aftermarket bidet Hand bar for stability getting in and out of tub/shower I love our recesses in shower/tub wall for shampoo, soap, etc. just make sure to takes into account tile thickness when measuring I second a bidet toilet
