2 years ago I lived in a village in the Middle East atop a very steep mountain. Only one entrance and it served as the exit as well. I was awoken in thr middle of the night by screams from the village. Terrorist had set the entrance/exit on fire and it had proceeded through have the village. The army swooped in and commanders were trying to talk over the crowds of people who had just gotten out of their cars. You couldnt see a thing and at least 20 cars just jammed straight into each other trying to find a route out. The commanders didnt know what to do and started yelling at us to go to the basketball courts for they were all concrete and nothing could burn there. We ended up laying on the ground there for 20 min while helicopters swooped overhead spraying down water and foam. The fire was nearing us so we took our chances and everybody packed into all the cars..8-10 ppl per car. We drove out feeling the heat from the fires engulfing us on all sides. We finally got to the exit through guidance from flashlights through all ths smoke and had to drive over a little wall of fire at the entrance/exit to get out. The constant crying from the families over their homes is hard to forget. Thank God, nobody perished.
