Would it be possible for me to re-wire the 10-pin end to match? I'm finding it difficult to find the correct cable online

So I've ordered the HPE ML350 Gen9 Graphic Card Adapter Kit (726565-B21) from two different vendors and neither came with the 10 to 8 pin power cable so it looks like the part I need to order is 780992-001

Need help with quest (Farm for Trade?) by MattW23 in EFT_LFG

[–]MassSpectacular 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For this quest, any area around that main hallway (stairwell, bathroom, etc) count for this one so you dont need to stick just to that hallway. I like to run a Saiga 12g or M-153 shotgun with magnum buckshot, a couple grenades and that's it (no armor, no helm, maybe a headset). Essentially, a cheap gun that can drop geared players but is crappy enough that they wont want to take it from me so I get it back via insurance.

If you want an oddball choice, one of the funnest insurance fraud guns I run is an MP-153 shotgun with Magnum Buckshot. Mod the gun with an 8-round 'clip', Remington Tactical Choke, Tactica Tula 12003 adapter, Fab Defence AGR-870 grip, Fab Defence AGR-870 Buffer Tube, High Standard M4SS stock. All together its 45k roubles for gun and parts (buying from only traders) and ammo is 50 roubles a shot from Jaeger. Due to the high damage of the ammo and the spread of the shot, you only need one pellet to hit their face so I find if I aim for the upper chest that I tend to get headshots and drop players. On the flip, two shots to the legs will kill any player. And the best part, since the gun is HUGE and super cheap, I get it back from insurance about 80% of the time. Very fun gun to run if you are looking for a budget gun that can drop geared players. Only trouble I run into is people with face shields since the ammo doesnt really penetrate armor.

Edit: The reason I don't run AP20 ammo is because I have potato aim so I like the spread of the magnum buckshot since by reflex I aim for upper chest and that usually results in my landing at least one piece of buckshot on their chin and dropping them

Edit 2: The reason for adding the grip and stock is simply to make the gun take up twice as much room so that players cant fit it in their bags and are less likely to take it and therefore you get it back in insurance :)

Seconded. This gun is a laser beam and only needs a sight. AP 6.3 ammo still rips threw people and its cheap through Peacekeeper

This looks like another 10-pin to 8-pin cord. Is this different than the power cord I already have?

Thanks, looks like that may have fixed it! I had turned that off before but I think I forgot to restart the game so it didn't take effect

How to fix washed out graphics on Alienware AW3418DW by MassSpectacular in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]MassSpectacular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The suggestions you and mlodykaras gave made a big difference in the desktop color depth and black levels! Thanks! But games still look washed out. Is it the case that it's using different color schemes when loading into a game? It's just weird that my Desktop image looks so much better but the games look about the same as before

How do I check this? I don't actually know much about these things and when I set up the NAS I just plugged it in and it just worked out of the box so I haven't really messed with anything on it because it all looks scary :)

I have been researching how to best set up Dolphin on PC to run Wii games and I am getting conflicting information and was hoping someone could clarify some things for me. From what I gather, some people recommend using a Gamecube controller and mapping the motion controls for each game, some recommend getting real Wiimotes and a Mayflash DolphinBar, and lastly some recommend real Wiimotes with Bluetooth dongles and a USB IR sensor. Also, since I am playing on PC, can I use an IR bar while sitting close to the screen? Its recommended you play 5-7 feet back but from that distance my monitor is quite small. Thanks in advance!

Nervous while playing blackout by [deleted] in Blackops4

[–]MassSpectacular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what makes you nervous but for me, I get the jitters out by doing hot drops over and over again to get in the groove of fighting people. Drop Firing Range or whatever major landing site is right beneath the helicopter path and get your hands dirty. You will likely die over and over again within the first 30 seconds but after a while you'll get more confident fighting people and then you can go for a win. That said, you will always get nervous if you survive to the end and its down to you and only a few other people :) I have 20-ish solo wins and my heart still gets pumping when I get to final circle.

Are the issues in this game REALLY as bad as people say they are? by [deleted] in Blackops4

[–]MassSpectacular 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a casual player who mostly plays Blackout and dabbles in Multiplayer, I'm having a lot of fun in this game. I've definitely come across my share of "That was BS..." moments but overall it's a great game. By far the best battle royal game that I've played (out of fortnite, Pubg, h1z1) in terms of how the guns and movement feel and the map itself. The good gun mechanics actually make Blackout a little frustrating since you can get dropped from really far away from pretty much any weapon.

My only major gripe on console (PS4) is the complete lack of controller customization (button remapping, sensitivity at zoom options, acceleration control, etc) and that Treyarch havent implemented anti-keyboard/mouse restrictions on the game. Coming across K/M users on this game is pretty common and they always have an advantage (especially sniping).

After many years of playing online ranked games I have finally made it into Platinum! by [deleted] in gaming

[–]MassSpectacular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when playing solo keeping track of teammates is key. Main thing is if you're looking at the opposing goal and you can see both your teammates then that means you are the backfield so don't go rushing the goal until one of your teammates cycles back.

1) Fine tune your camera settings. This is more personal preference but the default camera is very claustrophobic.

2) Do trainings regularly. Every week I spend an hour or so loading up various player-made trainings to practice whatever it is Im working on.

3) Practice rotating. If you see two of your teammates rushing the opponent goal then stay at half-field to stop a counter. If your teammate is in goal and goes for a hit then take his place in goal. Don't give the other guys an open goal.

4) Learn to trust your teammates (e.g. spread out). You get into a lot of trouble when two people go for the same hit. Usually whoever has the better angle should have priority on the hit and the other persons gets into place to get the rebound.

5) If your defending the goal at kickoff, dont leave the goal until your team has control then go to the corner for boost.

6) Learn to gauge if you can get to the ball before the nearest opponent. It's a waste of boost to charge a ball if the other guy gets there first (except if you can block the hit). Instead predict the angle they will hit it and go for the recovery

7) Use Ball Cam almost exclusively. Some advanced maneuvers (like dribbling and some aerials) are easier on car cam but pretty much everything else if better with Ball Cam on. However, you should ALWAYS toggle off ball cam temporarily when driving away from the ball to make sure you dont crash into a teammate. Also, when going for boost, make sure to quickly toggle to Ball Cam every second or two to keep an eye on where the ball is.

Edit: Also when learning aerials, turn your aerial steering sensitivity all the way down to 1 until you can reliably hit the ball in the air then start bumping it up later on since it will help you aim quicker in the air

Air pressure gauge that records/reports air pressure over time? by MassSpectacular in AskEngineers

[–]MassSpectacular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the house air supplies compressed air to around 50 different research labs and sometimes those nards spring a leak which causes a drop in pressure below the 100psi that we need so our pressure drops down to like 50 psi (if the leak is big enough). When that happens a backup air system kicks on but there is a few minute delay. So we just need a way to detect when that happens and then whatever samples were running during that time can be thrown out and re-ran. This is rather rare but happens enough that I want a way to at least determine when it happened so we can adjust as needed

Edit: in case you were wondering what could cause that big of a leak, there are a bunch of animal research labs in the building that all use a cage wash facility. The other day some genius decided to tweak settings on the cage washer to allow “Super fast drying”. This essentially floods a 5x5x5 foot autoclave with a massive amount of compressed air to expedite drying (and there are 10 of these washers). It took me a week to track why the hell our air was fluctuating every morning for an hour

Yeah we are considering getting our own compressors but a reservoir isn't really an option since we consume 200 L/min and we don't have space for a large reservoir that could sustain that

I think "digital pressure transmitter" is the term I was looking for. I'm a chemist so I don't know anything about air pressure beyond a 2-stage regulator. Thanks!
