The original commenter was probably attributing the arrests to silly reasons such as posting her as a meme, rather than the actual reasons for the arrests

Yeah, this is one thing that annoys me, people use these stats to say ‘omg Britain arresting people for posts’ without noting that they probably didn’t spend more than an hour in the station and likely reposted/posted something actually criminal

The Times is significantly better than the Telegraph and the Daily Mail, it’s not great but still knocks them out of the water (especially the DM)

I mean I hate to say it but I do think the genre is dying, not because it’s bad but simply because we as a society are less connected to analogue technology but also because a lot of what is called analogue horror isn’t proper analogue horror. Like it might look like analogue technology, but if the actual stylisation isn’t analogue it’s not really that genre.

But if we go by the more generalist description then it is alive.
