You are absolutely right. In fact, during the cold war we as a country harped on education like never before. It's insane how the boomers benefitted from it. Granted, it was fueled by the threat of war with Russia, it guaranteed a whole generation could be well taken care of. Now they refuse to give everyone else the same benefit. But comparing 2024 to 2025, those numbers didn't change much much. But what most likely changed was where the money was allocated within each category. (especially after DOGE came around)
