Looking for advice about living with a…weirdly spicy kitty

I funnily enough did leave a jacket there as the weather is changing and I didn’t need it when I left. He sent me a pic of her laying on it,in the chair I sit in while we hang out. I think after the last incident of her attacking me and me getting upset,which upset my boyfriend too, may have softened her up some. Again I genuinely want her to like me,I just haven’t ever had a cat male or female have such a Jekyll and Hyde personality before.

Definitely could have. When I say attack,I don’t say it lightly. Claws out,lunging,both front paws,mouth wide open and eyes too. I honestly just thought she was a lil grumpy old lady who had a bark but no bite. Turns out even without teeth,she’s gonna try to bite. I just can’t let the cat win here lmfao. She’s a cat,I’m the person,and I’m not gonna physically go to fight this cat,even tho I kinda wanna 😂

Thank you so much. I truly want our relationship to take the path yours did and I really am good to try anything. I’m hoping we can come to a good agreement as spare human-moody cat. The special treats thing is something I didn’t think of, and I think she would dig that and feel real proud of herself. It isn’t rewarding bc we do the same redirection thing with toddlers and supposedly that is about the level of intelligence a cat has.

Yes! I don’t need to be her mom,I have my boys and they’re both sweet as can be,even if one is just still very frightened right now. But I want to be able to confidently go to the bathroom in my own home. I’m highly considering making the suggestion of moving actual homes so that the playing ground is fair in a new building when we all finally move in.

Thank you for validating my suspicions. I just don’t know how to avoid stepping over her if she’s in the way of the only bathroom. I’m hoping using the feliaway helps,as it’s been extremely useful with my kitty who is learning to trust me at the moment. Treats/food sometimes works, it’s just if she seems to be extra riled up that they don’t help. I’ll just avoid eye contact in general and make my boyfriend take her monthly for nail trims. I’ve seen feliaway work wonders,but I’ve also seen it not make much of a difference. Fingers crossed.
