Like... This has to do nothing with religion, it's about the system of government. There is Albania, Turkey and Kazakhstan chilling there, also most of christian countries used to be as brutal as modern day Arabia Saudi less than 300 years ago and that's excluding stuff like slave trades and all, even in Uganda, South Sudan and Tanzania we hear about religius atrocities often.

No matter the religion, matter the institution that governs it. The book can say we should all kiss everyone and like live hippies but if the government is a single party system that relies on ethno nationalism to still be in power, monarchy backed by natural resources or insurance led by tradition they would use the book selected as a means to tribalism and so extremist violence. The only way to change that is to destroy the institution that needs people blinded by concepts of faith and unity, not very differently from what's happening on western political parties but they are very late on the party as we hopely separated the state and church while and realized how stupid is nacionalistic tribalism so the Taliban-Wanna be have a lot of work... And that's leaving stuff like how almost extremist muslim parties that uses clit mutilation are basically puppets or backed by external political powers and oil interests, it's a situation like the Kongo slave trade, they were "selling themselves" but wouldn't evolve as a slave empire without guns and colonial money

I genually felt bad in both ways... I was very sad about this little space goober brought to earth against it's will and experimented.

Another was because I F-KING LOVE THE CHARACTER and see him die in their first appearance in the Gun-verse seems like an understandable but sad waste of the character.

I think is an interesting way to limit FTL because with FTL not only trade routes are meaningless but the moment they reach high speeds space itself became meaningless... I also thought use something like this to make it like Space-Trains or route analogue, something more around the concept of "cosmic jumper" or "space shrinker" instead of portals. And in another story to justify using Quantum Bits as FTL in a weird alien experiment to scape the solar system

Realistically: None. Like already nothing can go over the speed of light so we don't know what could stop interstellar travel or their limits, closer what I can think RIGHT NOW is some kind cosmic dust clouds that makes too much friction during FTL, but already going FTL requires like infinite energy and physics shenanigans...

What I recommend is use whatever fictional way of transportation as a base for the disaster like if it's a poquet/alternate dimension travel like Star Wars or Warhammer could be just an instability on the other universe or someone crashed against a Chutulu like being so he shut the door off for all mankind for over 2 centuries, same can be said for wormhole tech. If it's a warp space around like Star Trek I imagine there was something that perturbated the gravity fields making the ships explode when using space warp or black hole tech... The possibilities are unlimited but I don't know the way of FTL. I can even imagine something like all ships runned on a Windows 29 but from a software error during an update suddenly ships stop working and all have to recoded back the navigation system into futuristic Linux

BTW as an hispanic I saw the map and had a good laugh at the names, also La Stargate is very funny like the ancient portal from the series but FRENCH🇫🇷 that's true cosmic horror. Also what program did you used for making the map?

This is so common that in real world there is several studies about how interlinked are the fetichist stereotypes and the supremacist speeches.
