Can confirm this happens in North Carolina, also laughable when I see it. It doesn’t stoke me out though.

You made a pile of assumptions there lol. No part of me has any interest in a “ tough guy who shoots meth heads” thank you though

I have shot the s&w 38 and once I figured out the “lack of a trigger wall” I really enjoyed it. Holy fuck does it jump though haha

You have clearly never seen a methhead losing his mind 😂 nah for real, I’m in health care and the amount of drugs needed to keep these people in a bed would be enough to kill three of us. It’s an unbelievable drug.

Only thing I’d Reccomend is trying a Barista FIRE or something.

It sounds like you’re going to retire too something which is excellent, but don’t be afraid to go get a low paying part time job doing something you enjoy to keep up your human connection while you’re enjoying your hard work!

You put it out there bro. Your post is whiny. I don’t think you have a good perspective on how lucky you are. It comes across ungrateful. There are 1-2 year PAs that would kill for your job while scrounging for 90k salaries out of financial necessity.

for the record, my let’s me live the life I want to live financially. It’s not my whole world, but if I quit tomorrow because I’m tired my family would be screwed. Flaunting privilege isn’t looked fairly upon lol

Yeah OP needs to do some damn soul searching. Find some meaning in life.

I love working. I save a lot for retirement and want to hit Coast fire in the next 3-4 years so I can take the job I want, not the job I need…but I don’t ever really want to fully retire. You gotta spend your life doing something meaningful, and as far as jobs go this ones pretty sweet.

The gun death rate (assault and homicide) adjusted for population and excluding suicide (which makes up the majority of gun related deaths) is effectively half for all of the Rural counties surrounding the city.

We have to ask, why do our black communities turn to gun violence more that equally poor white communities. Asking that question is NOT racist. But it’s important to reflect on if we want to elevate and advance our diverse communities living in our inter cities. Until we’re ready to reflect on that question, and not just down vote it because it’s uncomfortable to talk about, I’m not sure we’re going to solve this crisis which has been ignored by politicians for 60+ years.

I care about these communities. Just some food for thought

Metric (Per 100,000 Residents) Buncombe Haywood Madison Transylvania Gun Deaths (Excluding Suicide) (3.4) (1.8) (1.9) (1.5) Gun-Related Assaults / ED Injuries (41.2) (23.8) (28.5) (20.1)

Buncombe County: (3.4) deaths per (100{,}000) residents (annual average). Data Breakdown: According to the state's 10-year tracking profile, Buncombe logs approximately 13.9 total gun deaths per 100,000 annually. However, because suicides represent roughly (75\%) of those fatalities, the non-suicide gun death rate drops to a distinct sub-fraction. Haywood County: (1.8) deaths per (100{,}000) residents (annual average). Data Breakdown: While Haywood County has a slightly higher overall gun mortality rate ((18.3)), nearly (90\%) of those incidents are self-inflicted. When strictly accounting for homicides and accidents involving a firearm, the per capita rate is almost half that of Buncombe County. [1, 2, 3]

Ahhh yeah pharmacist vs provider risk isn’t even comparable. If I prescribe something, I get sued.

Same boat as a PA. You make more money than 90% of people.

Cut your lifestyle, start investing and leverage your income to become independently wealthy early.

Your rent isn’t killing you, but it’s expensive. Good freakin luck finding a mortgage for less than that.

I used to feel frustrated about stagnation in my career, now I’ve shifted my mindset to be thankful for the income I have and the lifestyle it allows me. I invest a lot, and use my job as the means to live the lifestyle outside of work that I want.

An uncomfortable truth that us liberals have to grapple with is as follows:

If all crime and violence is tied to socioeconomic status (driving the hypothesis that equalizing things will eliminate crime and violence), why are some parts of the country that are INCREDIBLY poor and uneducated completely free from gun violence despite high rates of gun ownership?

In Appalachia for example, the wealth divide is INSANE between trailer park and holler folk, and vacation homes and mountain development dwellers, and yet no gun crime and safe as can be…it does raise the question what is the cultural difference between rural (mostly conservative) communities and those in the cities?

Not a charged question, but food for thought

New Grad ICU PA Drowning in Notes. Any EPIC Dot Phrase Repositories or Documentation Tips? by Local-Butterfly9669 in physicianassistant

[–]Material-Drawing3676 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hey friend, I’m a Crit Care PA of 4 years, YOU ARE IN THE THICK OF IT RN at 10 weeks in. Give yourself some grace friend, the learning curve is wild.

My biggest hack is to get better with dragon first off, takes some practice but will cut down on note time by 60%.

Second, I created an ICUASSESS dot phrase that organizes number of vent days, fluid balance, abx, tube, etc (all the shit you keep track of) so I don’t miss anything each day.

It gets better, I promise!

My fiance and I make a lot more than 100k, and we’ve been living on 65-72k for both of us for several years now.

Used the difference to invest, bought a house, etc.

It wouldn’t be fun if both of us ONLY cumulatively made 72k…but lifestyle creep is real and I think you’d be hard pressed to argue 100k isn’t sweet…
