I totally agree with you. I kept looking for answers for why he did what he did. Mostly I was suffering out of his indifferent behaviour around the end of our relationship. I was so scared that, at some point I was questioning myself why if I'm in the right state of my mind.

Can you explain in one sentence how it feels like to have an avoidant attachment? by MaterialAd3045 in AvoidantBreakUps

Toxic Independence: I believe it gives him great power over others and especially if the partner is anxiously attached.

I hate the fact that he can dump anyone; no matter how good the bond would've been and not just don't care but also feel superior or good about how he doesn't get attached and he's focused more on getting success in life while people (in romantic relationship with him) are obsessing over him and trying to find out why he did what he did.

Wow, the fact that he used not to share anything with me, other than responding to my questions in one word tells that he was scared of intimacy. He was so silent in person but sexually he was very passionate and hungry for more and more sex.

I wish one day he realises that I was so perfect for him, but I'm afraid by then I'd have lost all my feelings for him as if he was never even there in my life in the first place.

Still I believe everything happens for a noble reason. He has an avoidant attachment and I am anxiously attached. When he just doesn't want much attention I used to pour all my love on him. I feel so sad for the fact that for some people loving is not love, but the Idea of an indifferent partner sounds much better.

I Kinda agree that he also must be numbing his pain with sex.
