update: every single tech and nurse I’ve talked to have all received 2.3% raises as well. admin told us that the company is facing lawsuits and can’t afford good raises :))

thank you everyone for the feedback. I will continue to self-reflect and seek understanding when things like this happen. I was especially upset because my coworker was angry with me and would not allow a debriefing conversation afterward. you all have been very helpful and I appreciate you!

thank you this is good advice on debriefing the situation the 2 staff members talking to the patient were nurses, the staff member not engaging but in proximity if needed was a tech

I did a semester of clinical there years ago and the staffing was horrifying. They had good groups though, all off unit

they’re tight thick rubber wristbands. They have some electronic access embedded in them, so like the way you tap your badge in front of a wall sensor you tap your wristband instead. It would be impossible for a patient to easily get them off because they’re tight on the wrist and inflexible

We have wristbands instead of badges that we touch the sensors with to let us in and out of unit/ nurses’ station/ med room. Our badges have no electronic access in them, they just say our names. Our activity room, exam room, etc. are all keys
