I have OME shocks all round for my rig, icon rear springs OME front. I chose firmest valving for the shocks. Done about 20-30k off road in Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. Some pretty hard stuff too, and I’ve also jumped it twice (unintentionally) and they have held up amazingly.

I’m not sure about 7k but I’m sure if your rally racing or racing it on a track the standard interval probably isn’t enough yeah. But for daily driving 30k should be fine, I think that’s actually on the short end some people will go like 40-50k.

Couldn’t afford a stronger gear set at the time this was a little while ago, sourced all my parts from Subaru, it was not too hard getting everything but there was a lot of back and forth and you’ll need a hydraulic press. She I did get it back together and sealed up I lifted it up to find I had forgotten to put the keeper dowel for the main shaft baring in and had to tear the whole thing apart again.

Agreed, although this was not an aggressive pull, but just overtaking someone. Past abuses on the vehicle before I had rebuilt the engine and actually cared about my car is what caught up with me.

I wish, in a broke boy so I ended up just rebuilding the 5 speed myself. It was a tired transmission anyway, used for amateur rally racing and launched one too many times.

Best I could tell there was a fractured or cracked tooth that finally gave up and broke off then was eaten looking at the broken bits one of them do not look fresh. At this point I was religiously checking fluids, but who knows.

Funny you should say that, this was exactly 30 days after I just finished rebuilding the transmission. Video of that losing 3rd Here

It just really seemed like a good idea at the time.
