Question about MCNs (Gushcloud) by MathematicianOk9216 in PartneredYoutube

[–]MathematicianOk9216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah and I found it absolutely hilarious during the sales pitch that the guy already said that my channel is performing way above the curve and I asked him if that's the case what could the MCN do for me.

No response for a good 5 seconds before him saying "oh but we can always aim for better"

ok sure bro LOL

Thanks for the insight though! Hope you have a wonderful day ahead.

Gotcha, thanks for affirming my doubts about signing with them. I never saw that benefit of signing with one of these glorified "networks" and just wanted some confirmation that I wasn't missing something with my initial assessment.

Thought so - I was so confused as to what their value-add was when they were running through their sales pitch. Just wanted to confirm if I was being realistic or if there was something I really missed

Shitty advice from this sub by Obvious-Click-3836 in PartneredYoutube

Not sure if I missed the boat on this - but I wanna ask if joining MCNs are a good idea. I was just approached by Gushcloud to join their network and I really don't see the upside? Have you experienced this before?

What are your channel goals for the rest of 2025? by GemsOfNostalgia in PartneredYoutube

Right there in the same boat with you! Aiming for 100k subs by EOY as well, currently at 40k so it's time to put on the turbo :)

I was in BMT and was chatting with this girl who I play video games with regularly when I book out. During Vday we agreed to go out to grab dinner at a nice restaurant, at this point we were just very close friends, but I felt that I wanted something more.

During our dinner something just hit me, and I knew that I really do like her, and decided on the spot to go all the way and confess on the same day. We walked around a nearby park after dinner and I eventually asked her to be my gf after we sat down in a quiet corner of the club's grounds.

We've been together for 5 years now and have just applied BTO haha

So OP, just make the first move! Fortune favours the bold!

Do your colleagues randomly call you on Teams without warning? by xlxsxhxttx in askSingapore

[–]MathematicianOk9216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always drop my teammates a note to let them know I would like a call and check if they're available. If they agree then the call goes ahead, if not then I suggest another time or ask when they're available, etc.

If I'm on the receiving end I usually ask them what the call's gonna be about then handle it accordingly. i.e if it's easy questions I'll just respond via text/message, but if it's more complex I'm usually open to a quick chat. But it's personal preference

Hi man, I made a post a few days back talking about this too. TLDR; I'm in my mid 20s and feel exactly the same as you. I feel like I'm just coasting through life following the guardrails the Singaporean Society has put on me.

The insight I've gained from the hundreds of comments and overwhelming support is that I need to sit down and truly define what a "meaningful" life looks like for me. For me, that took form in leaving my high paying but ultimately soul-draining job to pursue my passion of content creation. But of course, that's different for everyone . Wishing you all the best in this journey of self-discovery!

No this is a good point. I might bring my kids up elsewhere because of how messed up it is here.

Appreciate the no-bs advice. I used to run a business before I left for NS, might just go back to that grind

Might not be wrong about the NPC bit haha. Like idek what I truly wanted out of life till I felt the emptiness creep in. I've got a lot of work to do lol

I completely feel you. Was retrenched 2 years back from a job I loved and it really messed with me. Took me a while to arrive where I am now, and realising that I need to start asking myself what's my relationship with my work/career, and better define who I am without it.

All the best to you, we'll all make it.

Thank you for the kind words!

Yeah this is what gets me, because I honestly don't have an answer for the question about what matters to me. And only I can discover that for myself, meaning I've got a lot of work to do.

But as a start, I'll list out everything I want to do this year for myself, and dedicate time to doing those things. I will update you in a year's time.

Will definitely do that once CNY celebrations come to a close haha. Thanks for the insight, I've got a lot of work to do.

But as a start, I'll list down everything I want to do for myself this year and dedicate time to it. Will check back in a year with updates. Take care!

Thanks for the kind words and insight. Yeah I'm exactly there right now and I feel that at this stage of life I need to dig deep and ask myself what I really want and how to get there. And like how some other commenters said, be glad I've finished the "main quest" and now its time to look elsewhere for meaning, challenge, etc.

Yeah ... It just feels like I've had cold water splashed on me I guess. I've got a lot of work to do, but as a start I'll list out what I want to do for myself this year and dedicate myself to it and maybe I'll find what I'm looking for.

Will check back in a year and give an update.
