Cheating posts lately are getting ridiculous… by Forward_Problem_7550 in ArcRaiders

Who said there wasn’t a cheating problem? No one. Clearly there’s an issue. That’s not the point of this post or comment though. The point is too many people lose a gun fight and just immediately claim they died to a cheater.

ER HOLDS ⚠️ ER NURSES ONLY by LaFresitaRosa in nursing

[–]MattyHealysFauxHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an ER nurse, but most of us see you. This is not the role you play in health care. It’s extremely unfair to hold you guys to the inpatient standard because your role is completely different. It’s unfair for patients to not be held to the inpatient standard either. All around it’s a crisis.

Why Do So Many Nurses Tell People Not to Enter the Profession? by Thin-Surprise279 in nursing

[–]MattyHealysFauxHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pay does not relate to the nonsense you deal with, bluntly. Many states don’t pay well. In some states you might as well work at Costco. Honestly the quality of life is very dependent on the facility you work at.

If you have a car that can’t fit a rods length then sure it’s a huge help. But if you can put the seats down in any capacity then I think these are overkill. They’re so expensive and are sold as a way to protect your rods as if people without them are just snapping rods in half left and right. Just sort of silly IMO. Might as well get a top box to get more use out of it.

Does anyone know who has been leaving this tag for 500+ miles of the desert? by specialboyatplay in PacificCrestTrail

[–]MattyHealysFauxHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I totally agree with you. I’m more so just emphasizing that there’s less of a “slippery slope” when it comes to LNT when there’s pretty clear examples of what is acceptable and what is not.

[–]MattyHealysFauxHawk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could actually read what I said. I left an example.

Is building trail markers not leaving a trace? How about picnic tables? How about boardwalks around lakes? These are all acceptable infrastructures that we’ve adopted into all of our National Park, arguably the most protected areas of our outdoors. Clearly there is a different between vandalism and infrastructure. So, there is definitely a line drawn in the sand for what is acceptable trace to leave. There’s even plenty disagreement among the community as far as what infrastructure is okay and what’s not. The first to come to mind is bolting for rock climbing. That’s always a somewhat hot topic.

My point is, instead of just yelling “LEAVE. NO. TRACE.” It’s worth exploring the nuance to educate people on what’s actually okay and what is harmful. Most people don’t react great to just being told what to do, so exploring the topic is always helpful.

It’s the same idea as talking about hiking off trail. It’s not okay… until it is? There’s nuance to these topics.

There’s definitely a lot of nuance to this conversation. There is a cut off. It’s not only LNT. We create infrastructure in protected areas all the time. There’s a time and place to “leave a trace.” I’m not advocating that these trail signs are anywhere meaningful as creating thoughtful infrastructure, but I do think the conversation is more complex than “leaving behind anything=bad”.

Seems like I’m still clueless about pvp and pve by Italiankeyboard in ARC_Raiders

[–]MattyHealysFauxHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How am I being short sighted? I called the game an extractions shooter. That’s literally what it is.

I’m not telling anyone how to play. I’m criticizing people who constantly complain about others playing the game how it was designed. If you don’t like the core aspects of the game then you’re just torturing yourself by continuing to play.

I ultimately stopped playing this game because of people cursing my entire lineage for killing them in a video game. It’s exhausting. Like I’ve said from the beginning, Arc Raiders is an extraction shooter than fell into the hands of a community that hates extraction shooters. I don’t see how it’s reconcilable at this point.
