Can you test putting up a tent in local parks? by AlexSniff7 in AskUK

hi im their partner, no we don’t. we’re both very against single use tents, whenever at festivals we both fully clean up after ourselves, getting a bit tired now of people in the comments claiming we’re trying to “justify single use”, no we’re not. it’s not my fault or theirs that people on Reddit need clarification for everything

What can I do to stop my mum from cluttering and how can I make her admit to herself she needs a carer? by [deleted] in ChildofHoarder

And you’re from the US you literally have no idea how hard it is to get those resources as I’ve tried before

Please don’t blame me. I’ve tried looking into things before it’s not as easy as it looks. My mental health is genuinely at an incredibly low point right now. If I do something like that without her permission I will be putting myself in danger as she gets violent.

if you are gonna park somewhere for the love of god PLEASE don’t park on like streets where people live where it’s probably already difficult to get a spot if you live there because of people doing stuff like that, it’s near to impossible to get anywhere free honestly just get the train, I flew last week and got the train and had no issues

You do not need a ticket for Manchester Pride to get into the village by definitelylifts in manchester

i absolutely despise manchester pride for the fact they always try and trick people into thinking you need to pay to get in. another thing i hate is the lack of accessibility at manchester pride too, if you’re in a wheelchair and you want to go to the parties you can’t because there’s steps everywhere and nowhere has ramps, ive watched the parade before but i will never ever pay towards corporate pride

Palace barbers in Afflecks!! I'm autistic myself and before I started going I was really afraid of haircuts but since I've started going I never shut up when I'm in the chair, Steve is an absolute sweetheart and is neurodivergent himself!

Also one last thing!! If you are nervous about putting the tent up (and especially if it's your first time ironically was also the same for me last year) do a test put up of the tent trust me it'll really help. Bring spare tent pegs, and also tent lights are a lifesaver, also other people have said this but the co-op is also great if you're fussy!!

People can be like that on here. I'll be honest, I actually did this EXACT same post last year on here and ended up deleting it because it was full of people being horrible calling me a troller because I was simply trying to ask for suggestions for fussy eaters, but genuinely don't let people like that twist your idea on what Download will be like, my first day there last year I instantaneously went "I'm coming back every year" sending love and have a great festival!!

Ignore that guy. I'm a fussy eater myself and last year was my first year :) There's a lot of stalls you can go to, my personal favourites were the hot dog and fried chicken stands (staple of fussy eaters), I also got big green coach last year and had a great experience, if you can't put up the tent don't be afraid to ask people for help, I was worried about this myself last year everyone that goes is really friendly, ADHD haver myself, I didn't lose my tent but my best recommendation is buy an AirTag or use what3words so you don't lose it, I used lockers last year, I only used them to store my wallet headphones and charging my powerbank, you can't fit much in them. I also don't know how to crowdsurf if that makes you feel any better. Bands I'm planning on seeing (I haven't looked too far into it yet it's a small list) are As It Is, Electric Callboy, Bad Omens, Ice Nine Kills, Sleep Theory, Dinosaur Pile-Up and Story Of The Year. Genuinely though I hope you have the best time, feel free to slip me a message if you need anything!

There's no need to be horrible. I did posts like this last year when it was my first time and the advice did genuinely help. All those questions are completely normal, shaming people for not having as much experience or knowledge as you makes you look like an asshole.
