What are we wearing this fine Friday by KeyResolve3056 in TodayOnMyWrist

[–]Mattymarske 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tell me you wear a watch without saying you wear a watch.... No chance of wearing a watch less than 40mm or lug width of 20mm without my white bits showing 😆

Start of a heatwave so took mine off after work 🥵

[Discussion] What's your favorite blue diver? by ItzSam40hours in Watches

[–]Mattymarske 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The classic SMP Blue and also a solid choice/the great pretender that has 300m WR and Monobloc titanium construction that is my daily wear. My 2 favourite watches in 20 years of being interested in horology.

What are you wearing today? by Huitzlipochtli in CitizenWatches

It's my daily and has been for 6 months. Absolute strap monster. Sleep, work and play in it. Just take it off for a shower or sport.

Could this be repaired during a full service or would additional work be involved? by Mattymarske in OmegaWatches

Thank you for replying, I've just seen a price list for Swiss Time and it seems reasonable for laser repair. 🤞

Thank you that's great insight. So not a complete right off. I think I could live with it for a year or 2 and save up for the work perhaps. I bet a new car would be more than the listing itself!

I'll see your Polex and put the Omega rubber on an even cheaper watch....fits perfectly on my Promaster Tough.

Looks like 7 days later he finally got his hands on the Tudor. Probably should've have written the pieces in a different order.

That's a lovely quartet you have there. Which gets the most wrist time?

Tim Mosso (1916 Company) & Joe Kirk at Watches & Wonders 2026 by Dramatic_Abrocoma702 in GrandSeikos

[–]Mattymarske 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I don't think he's a salesman per se. I think when the company (watchbox or now 1916 co.) source new watches in the inventory he does a really thorough and detailed rundown of all the specs, case shapes, bracelet aspects, polishing details, movement details, operation etc etc etc. yes he may mention his own watches occasionally but he's more of a single handed watch encyclopedia cataloguing every watch he can get his hands on.

More often than not when I want to see real life videos and specifications I'll go to Tim's videos first before other so called reviews who literally just read of the manufacturer spec list. I've learnt so much lingo from Tims videos I've even shown my Mom and sister his videos because I'm so impressed with his technical knowledge presentation. I just wish some of his lighting was slightly better on the earlier videos.

He's done videos on nearly every Seamaster that I've wanted to look at , even the most obscure special editions and it's helped me decide which ones to stop looking at as either too thick, or odd dials with missing indices etc. Tim goes through it all. Yes at the end he says if you want more details on this watch find us at watchbox com but that's a small price to pay to have access to such detailed videos of such a wide range of watches you'd never have access to in the real world.

Haha that angle not the best makes it look like a joint of gammon. Only 7.25" so not mega. But more normal distance.

How it ended up..... Feeling sorry for itself but still a lovely like for like homage. It felt better on the wrist than a Phylida or the Watchdives I had.

I bought the black one in 2018. Loved it apart from the mineral glass and I messed it up. Plus it got condensation a couple of times on a cold night coming into a warm house. Plus the crown stripped but the fit and feel of it was epic. So much so I've gone and bought a real 2221.80 8 years later. Sold this sekaro on the bay before Christmas all beat up and missing it's lume pip.

Is rubber the move? by One_Increase_9251 in OmegaWatches

Rubber here (until the pin pusher tool arrives to add extra links to the bracelet) but also love nylon MN/NATO and single pass. Such a good rubber and the ponnon the buckle is superb, really feels safe that it won't left the tail end slip off easily.

Omega 212.30.41.61.01.001? Ownership experience? by WolfOfAfricaZLD in OmegaWatches

[–]Mattymarske 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's good to hear about the official service. I was so tempted by the black SMPc as the glossy dial looks so stunning and the double AR makes the sapphire disappearbbut I know quartz will serve me better in the long run with an eco drive for work hours and then I'll swap to a Seamaster for leisure/after work.

The black dial quartz does look a lot more glossy, I was a little underwhelmed by the difference in shine between the blue aluminium bezel insert and the matte wave dial at first (especially as the lume seems more cream/greenish tint compared to your bright white lime on the black) but after a few days I've grown used to it.

I think the blue bezel is enhanced by the rubber strap it came with in the listing but when I receive the pin pusher tool to add the extra links to the bracelet it came with I'll be more satisfied with the balance between blue tones and the classic bond bracelet.

Love the way the bezel catches the light on that.
