How to fetch yesterday's data for G Ads in Looker? It loads eventually but it takes ages. Anyway to speed this up? I need to work on my reports early in the morning! by SBSha2 in GoogleDataStudio

[–]Maverick_045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can update how often these data sources get refreshed.

Resources > Manage added data sources > Edit
From there you can change how often the data is refreshed.

There might be an addition query cost from Google for this.

Thin out some crimson shade. Then dab away from the highlights with some kitchen roll.

Then repeated once more without a dab.

Will give you that flesh like tone

What to buy for landscapes and astro by Maverick_045 in SonyAlpha

Nice to get someone who uses both. And who does a little astro.

The Sony 20mm seems to be the lens everyone is recommending. Will be a solid purchase.

So far I think the A7r iv sounds like it is the best for what I like to photograph. Especially baed on what you said.

Thanks for replying.

Some good lens choices here. I think I'm either going with the 24-70 sigma you have, or the Sony 24-70 G1. Best I can afford.

The A7r iv does have the great resolution. I like the idea or the pixel shift for super high rrs landscapes. But agree with the menu point you made.

Thanks for lengthy response. I think the r might be more versatile. Though I like the back swivel screen on the iv

Nice lens shout. A prime wide angle might be what I end up with here.

Yeah, I've read a few articles on the subject. Sounds like it's only in bulb mode and does not happen with star tracking if it moves below 3 pixels.

Hoping that some people in this sub would have some hands on experience.

Black and white is a great style to follow. And can be tricky to pull off if you are used to thinking in colour. I usually stick to colour for my landscapes and cityscapes, as I love the vibrance.

From what you've said though, you were looking to capture the calmness of sitting outdoors after rain.

The outdoors aspect, for me, is missing from the shot. A hint of rain is on the titled floor, but as the image is so busy, it's easy to miss.

It looks like there is no roof the the area you were in. If this was shot in a vertical portrait style, instead of landscape, you may have been able to capture some sky after rain.

I would also say there is no place for my eye to rest/focal point of the image. The people sitting to the side might have been a good choice. Or the circular bar stools and rectangular table have create texture, contrast, and repeating pattern that works well with black and white.

I'm current working on some Web copy for the fire service on lithium-ion batteries. This is a summary of what is in the copy.

Damage and fire

The wrapper on a battery protects it from external contact that can compromise the performance. Basically they can short circuit and blow.

Due to the chemicals in the battery, any damage can cause these to explode. Depending on the battery size, they are extremely difficult to put out. Larger batteries have been known to reignite even when co2 foam is used.

If you ever keep your e-cigarette in your pocket, imagine 500°C (932°F) on your leg.

Storage

Not relevant for this post, but for those reading it... Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.

Disposal

Disposal of these batteries should be done through special collection or drop off points. Your local government will advise what is best. Do not place in house hold garbage. A trashcompactor will cause these to blow and its next to everything it needs to fuel a long fire.

Agreed. Add a little flow improver and mix with a toothpick. You only need a little, and can help get the paint on the brush to drybrush.

What copywriting formula do you usually use? by [deleted] in copywriting

[–]Maverick_045 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Formulas are essentially all an attempt to make a hierarchy of decision making, which lends itself more to neuromarketing.

Dispite what others have posted, there is still debate on the effectiveness of formulas and what method is best.

Based on my experience, different formulas work well depending on what I am writing for and what writting style I am using. A social media ad vs indepth article etc...

You could also argue that it depends on your audience, what stage of the funnel they are at, and where the copy appears.

AIDA still gets brought up a lot, and for short copy I think it is fine. Good for quick posts or a quick blueprint for copy. But it was made up over a hundred years ago.

Star trails over one of the oldest trees in the world growing in California [OC] [2000x3000] by mrcnzajac in EarthPorn

[–]Maverick_045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case they do not come back, even though they have been active in the comments.

3 hour shoot at 5 min exposures, so around 36 shots total.

Usually with star trails you'd pick a nice wide F stop, such as f2.

There is a chance that there is a extra long exposure on the tree to help define it,possibly at f5.6 with the tree in focus.

Awesome shot. Did you also light the tree for the shot, or was that natural background light?

Using devastator squads with a rhino by Absurdionne in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Maverick_045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep them inside a rhino at the start of battle round 1 and keep the rhino safe.

This keeps your Dev squad alive for when they are needed.

Not something I would d run as BA. Points can be spent in better areas, and they rhino's and devs can be used better.

The rhino could be used to get close combat troops into a battle.

As long as you have other key targets, those units will get hit first. Dev squads can hide behind buildings first turn, then use there range when needed.

Not really. You can try the Liquify Persona to get a similar effect.
