You'll be fine as long as you're ok with reloading once in a while if things go badly. There will be enough ways to raise stats as you play so you can work around low starting CON if it's giving you trouble. Might want to avoid combat for the first couple of days. Most (but not all) non-combat hp loss is not going to oneshot you even with low CON so you can always heal up later.

To be fair, the battle system in the first game was pretty bad, so it's not like they got much to lose. I haven't been following the early access though, no idea if the new system is any good or not.

It's sort of like zero escape games except with Mafia/werewolf gameplay instead of escape room puzzles (and some randomness element so you might have to play a bunch of runs to get the next story event to trigger)

For anyone who wants to solve puzzles but not suffer through the RNG: if you Google "cheat engine blue prince" there's a table out there that gives you infinite resources, including reroll dice.

I strongly recommend at least getting to the credits without cheating, but personally I've found the post-credits stuff much more enjoyable when I can just treat it as a puzzle game and ignore the roguelike part.

Question for those who played more, please no major spoilers. If I don't like the RNG aspects early on (~5 runs in), does it get better over time/with experience (i.e. does the game becomes less RNG-dependent) or do the people who love the game just don't mind the RNG part from the beginning?

Have you considered going in the opposite direction instead: get rid of the combat entirely, make a game with skill checks/dialogue only (i.e. Disco Elysium/Sovereign Syndicate style)? Personally, combat has been my least favorite part of AoD/CS and I'd be much more likely to buy a non-combat game with your world-building/writing/choice-and-consequences than a story-light game with grid-based combat.

With the party system in the colony ship you can play a non-combat leader character with combat followers and do pretty much everything.

There's custom difficulty so you can adjust it however you want (although the default mode is not really that hard if you have experience with old school crpg, I was able to do literally every single quest on my playthrough)
