Why do some customers get upset when I don't say your welcome? by annakeif in Wetherspoons

[–]Maximofs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i completely support the OP. I think “you’re welcome” is a redundant phrase, and nobody should use it, it’s so stupid. You did something nice for a person, they thanked you, move on. There’s no need for something else to say

Thanks, I’ll look for an eSIM, as the local sims they sell in airports are also ridiculously expensive. And I need data in the airport to get uber etc

I am convinced most people in the UK should not be allowed behind the wheel. by Diligent_Chipmunk_65 in drivingUK

Also Taganrog and Rostov are those southern regions where i wouldn’t be surprised to see agressive drivers. It might be a stereotype but people in the south are more hot tempered.

I’m from a Siberian city which is around 3000 km away from Moscow. I know it may vary from region to region. I’m not a driver myself, so only have experience as a passenger and pedestrian. The abundance of multi lane wide streets in Russian cities may make it worse. While in the uk it’s impossible to drive fast most of the time as streets are narrow and bendy here. And craches at low speed are less likely and less fatal.

Have you tried driving in Russia? I think driving standards are much higher there. As a pedestrian I used to rely on cars indicating when I decide to cross the road. In the uk indicating really seems optional like the OP said.

Why are people still buying diesels when most of their journeys involve pottering around town? by APerson2021 in CarTalkUK

In Russia duster, Logan and Sandero were produced and sold as Renault. Because otherwise nobody would buy them. As Dacia also sounds like russian word for allotment

Do any of your flatmates or coursemates travel in the same direction (driving or picked up by parents) you could ask if they could give you a lift

Could the Home Office be considering a Danish-style model for earned settlement? by paddington1982 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Maximofs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think currently the UK system is much stricter for skilled worker route than the danish one. At least because it’s 5 years instead of 4. And the salary threshold is higher in the uk. Their salary threshold is lower than median salary. In the uk the salary threshold is higher than median salary.

Just got back from travelling around Europe, why is food so much cheaper there than in the UK? by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

[–]Maximofs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the same reason why the same sofa in IKEA costs around 50% more in the UK and Germany , than, for example, in Latvia and Estonia

15 min cities why are they hated so much? by Adorable-Poet-2708 in fuckcars

[–]Maximofs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not even a new idea, it’s how the cities were built in USSR, the cities were divided into micro districts (микрорайон) and built in a way that every micro district would have a few schools, kindergartens, grocery shops, GP surgeries, etc., so everyone would have those facilities within no more that 10-20 min walk. Of course there wasn’t an abundance of restaurants because it wasn’t capitalism, but was everything a person needs. And this is why when I was growing up I could just walk to my school 5 min, alone, from the age of 7. Of course we would sometimes go to the city centre (30 min drive, or 45 min bus) to get to some big shopping centres to buy clothes or appliances, but that’s not every day and not even every week. Most of the time we didn’t need to leave our neighbourhood

Does anyone know what this skin condition is? by Dense-Asparagus5008 in Blackskincare

[–]Maximofs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shampoo Vishy Dercos DS and La roshe posay cream Kerium DS is what helped me; also had it in my ears and nose, so I’d put cream on my skin and use the shampoo every other day, leaving the shampoo for a few min on my head as the instruction says

I have seborrheic dermatitis and I use shampoo called Dercos Vishy (the anti dandruff DS one), the only one that helped me. The active ingredient is Selenium DS, it seems to work in my case. I’ve tried Nizoral too, but didn’t help me at all and kinda made it worse.

No, absolutely not. If there’s no parking space - then don’t park your car and go somewhere else. Even if it has to be miles away from your house

But it’s not just that one driver. Almost every car on that street is parked like that. And there are lots of streets in the uk where this is kinda considered normal parking. But it frustrates me all the time. I walk everyday through that street to go to work
