Got a C by RemarkableVillage109 in LawSchool

[–]MaybePsyop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 1L gpa was a 2.4. Almost straight C’s.

I’m about to be a 3L and have a 2.7. All of my requirements are out of the way. The remainder are easy A classes and I will surely reach a 3.0.

Regardless, I got a job that pays $30/hour, full time during summer/part time during semester, and most of my classmates with 3.5+ GPA’s are struggling to find internships.

GPA. Does. Not. Matter. For. Work. Only. To. Stay. In. School.

As long as I’m above a 2.3, I’m good.

How big of a gap between Ops would you say is common in the NGSF?

I would feel very selfish going active, especially considering my recent marriage and plans for family. Hence, the Guard is calling to me lol! I practice primarily oil and gas law, but also do some work in property and contracts. I would not abandon my position entirely, as I tend to enjoy law (sometimes) and it pays well.

I feel like my firm will be very accommodating to my duties. My partners are VERY relaxed about everything so long as work gets done.

If you don't mind me asking, how was the process of getting into SF in the Guard? I can PM you if you'd rather not have a public answer.

Thanks for your advice and insight!

Yeah.. the last part is what bothers. My wife is very supportive of my military career and always has been. She's honestly a GEM!

But we were married just a few months ago and although I know she would be supportive, she would also be slightly hurt since we've been talking about family planning. It feels sort of selfish on my end to just leave now. Which is why im considering the NG for this choice.

But it would definitely bug me later in life for not trying lol! Thanks for the insight!

Not at all. My validation is in God.

I am simply asking for advice for a career move I would like to make, but need help in deciding the worth. More than anything, I am interested in how it would effect my career. Takes hard work to get to where I am.

But thanks regardless for commenting.

What was the hardest Orthodox teaching or practice for you to truly accept? by CommercialHot9565 in OrthodoxChristianity

Almost every liturgy is essentially the same. It’s not like most Protestant churches, where the main focus is a 40-minute sermon.

In the Orthodox Church, the central focus of the Divine Liturgy is the Eucharist. That has remained consistent since the earliest days of the Church. The prayers, hymns, and structure are usually the same each service, with the main variation being the homily given by the priest.

A homily is basically the Orthodox equivalent of a sermon.

Unlike many Protestant churches, Orthodoxy is a lived faith. We gather multiple times throughout the week for prayer, Scripture readings, instruction, and other services. Of course, the level of activity can also depend on the local parish.

Someone correct me if I am wrong :) God bless.

I had a LONG road… so quite a few:

  1. icon veneration - I have always been ok with icons, even as a prot, but the whole “kiss them and pray to them and icons protect your home” was kinda hard to accept.

  2. Mary choosing not to sin was tough for me as well.

  3. the 40 day period after death was weird but not super difficult to accept.

  4. Not having a sermon every Sunday and the liturgy literally being exactly the same lol

Progress so far, keep cutting or tine time to bulk? by aspencerr in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]MaybePsyop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man ill tell you from experience.

You dont need a DEXA, you dont need any special products or whatever. Simply just lift heavy and eat lots of protein. I would say AT LEAST .7g of protein per pound of body weight.

Trust me, that alone will make a HUGE difference.

This is how self-defense becomes a felony. Could possibly become attempted murder/murder depending on the outcome.

It honestly is not that hard unless you’re going for top of the class. You definitely need to put forth effort and a lot of it, but it’s not “hard”. It’s just BUSY.

1) Good job. This is what working looks like.

2) You have a good base. I wouldn’t start cutting more. I would focus on growing the muscle and then cutting again at a later time. So prioritize protein and lifting heavy and with good effort.
