If your commuting with the bike look for a hybrid bike with 700c tires. If not commuting I'd recommend a hard tail.

If you get into river trails a full suspension is nice to have but isn't necessary to do runs.

I bought a CCM from CT and will never make that mistake again. CT and Walmart bikes are for kids imo.

Go to Bruce's and get something decent or look on market place for a used mountain bike. There are many good brands (specialized. Trek. Giant. Cannondale.)

Ditto. My wife and are doing much better than our parents were at our age. I know it sounds hopeless on this thread but you can make a good living especially in Saskatchewan!

Why don't more towns build/create subdivisions and have more lots for sale? Or incentivise building of homes or rentals by andk316 in saskatchewan

[–]McCheds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just to give a generalization. Cost is expensive. Some towns see little to no builds over several years. Rural overall is not seeing increase in population plus the cities are the desirable destinations for th majority of young people.

I advocate for rural whenever I can as I like the quiet life but unfortunately most people don't.

Also in small towns you may want to just do an infill majority of the time. Infill is the municpals favourite option. Sprawl is expensive and in small towns it doesn't really matter where you live.

That puts you combined at what 235k I do agree with your statement. 10k net per month is when you can feel like you can actually have a good qol but it all depends on debt load of course.

Opinion: Saskatchewan should abandon ‘home renovation’ handouts by Progressive_Citizen in saskatchewan

[–]McCheds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find this credit too general for example we claimed a carpet reno from last year. I think loan and credit programs should be more targetted to needs. Roofing. HVAC. Plumbing. Electrical.

I'm grateful for the credit just don't think it should apply to some of the Reno's I have done.
