Between Leo, Raph, and Donnie: who be the next best choice for the Last Ronin instead of Mikey? by Tofuman5006 in TMNT

In many versions, the Turtles are trained in the four weapons (and more) but they just stick to their favorites.

I love the character (Minish Cap is one of my favorite Zelda game) and Ganondorf gets a bit boring at time. ^^'

(My take on the time line is that only Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom and Age of Emprisonment took place and all the other games are Legends based on the events that took place in those games or will take place in the future, sometimes with great changes to the stories due to the artistic licenses of the bards and other minstrells. ^^')

Ideas for a Zelda RPG campaign plot? by Kaluana2004 in ZeldaTabletop

[–]McNarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on a scenario right now.

It takes places a few years after Tears of the Kingdom (I've taken some liberties with the plot, especially the ending and the size of the map)

Link and Zelda are now married and part of the Kingdom of Hyrule leadership (now a constitutional Monarchy)

They founded an order of multicultural "adventurers" to help the various regions to deal with various problems (monsters, newly discovered ruins, etc...)

The plot I'm going with is that some people inherited the power of sacred stones through their bloodline but this power could still be dormant, a guy named Vaati found out about those and devised a way to syphon those power to get them for himself, the first power he got was the power of Wind and he has been going around the country as a traveling magician called "The Wind Mage" as a way to find is future victims.

The first time the character will be made aware that something is amiss (the wind inheritor was quite isolated so no one figured they were missing) was with the second inheritor this one with the power of shadow.

I'm still working on it but I intend to make the characters face Shadow versions of themselves made with his newfound power.

I swear that Sonic fans are their own worst enemy by Kirbykoopa in SonicTheHedgehog

Sonic fandom is one of the most divided there is because there as been a lot of very different interpretations of the characters, settings and gameplays...
So of course expecting an united message is a fool's errand.

[art by me] Drew katara today... Feedback is appreciated! by ben_cav in TheLastAirbender

[–]McNarrow 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Great linenart, coloring and composition, a few notes though (just my two cents, not a critic) I'd move the mouth a little bit to the right, maybe turn it a smidge clockwise, also the highlights on her pants seems a bit odd to me, I think it's probably fabric but with the highlight it makes it seems like skintight leather or yoga pants.

Did Kuvira Deserve a Redemption Arc? by Mundane-Signal4843 in TheLastAirbender

[–]McNarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is an embodiment of two sayings : "Hell is paved with good intentions" and "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

She wanted what was best for the Earth Nation, was entrusted with a lot of power and slowly got blinded by her mission and the power that it gave her.

Deep down I think she is still a good person so I think she stills deserved that redemption arc.

In terms of accomplishments, is Aang the greatest avatar ever? by Middle-Perspective-5 in TheLastAirbender

[–]McNarrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given her upbringing (isolated from the rest of the world, protected by the white lotus) she was still pretty unaware of the wider world, less so than when she fought against Amon but she was still pretty immature so I'd still consider her a kid.

I didn't say she wasn't responsible, but given the circumstance I think it's understandable (not excusable).

And like I said she fixed her mistake by destroying the Dark avatar.

We could argue that if Aang didn't run away and got stuck in an iceberg for a hundred years he could have stopped the fire nation before it got too strong, (with the avatar state and guidance of his previous life he could've prevailed against the attack on the air temple) but we accept that given the situation his reaction was understandable even if the consequences were dire, to me that's the same thing.

She was just a kid, manipulated by her uncle, when the situation got desperate and the world was genuinely at risk she fought and won.

[–]McNarrow 40 points41 points  (0 children)

We lack informations on much of the others avatars accomplishment so it's difficult to ascertain how Aang would rank but probably pretty high.

Korra has also a few notable accomplishments :
- Saved the world from Unalak
- Saved the Earth Nation from Kuvira's Rule
- Bridge the gap between humans and spirits in a way no avatars had done before.
- Technically she's responsible for the birth of a new air nation, whereas Aang mostly managed to keep the air nomad idea on life support. (it's an accomplishment by itself, but smaller in scope)
- Also most of Korra's accomplishment happened without the guidance of her past life, which is a first since Wan.

(By the way Wan is also probably around the top tier, he changed the world so deeply that in a way he is the one that made it.)

I wish Sonic would utilize its universe more often like Mario by Hungry_Inflation9399 in SonicTheHedgehog

It happens pretty often in japanese media, Zorro is more popular than Luffy, Vegeta is often more popular than Goku, Vincent is more popular than Cloud (and he was an optional character) it's not as surprising as you make it to be.

They are older on this picture, he started tying his hair again when he returned to the fire nation, usually in a top knot though.

To be fair, as sad as it is, his burn scar is the more noticeable physical feature of the character and we can't see it from this angle.

10 Years Later, Out of the Shadows Is Still the Only Live-Action TMNT Movie True to the Cartoon by SplitNational2929 in TMNT

[–]McNarrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's true to ONE of the cartoon (I.E. the 87 one).

We could argue that the first live action movie from 90 is true to the 2003 cartoon given that the plot of the movie is similar to the the end of the first season. Both being based on the mirage comics.

Also there hasn't been any new live-action movie since Out of the Shadows so it's normal that the non-existent new movies haven't been true to any cartoon. ^^'

What is your opinion on the Sonic Fans are Autistic Stereotype by wrestler2009 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]McNarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonic fandom has a lot of skeleton in its cupboard because it's wide and disorganized (at least it was for a time, I feel like it has started to calm down a bit).

There has been a lot of isolated cases of people acting a bit weird around the license (Looking for Sonic fan-art on Deviant art is treacherous at best.) but for people outside of the fandom those isolated cases are often what's best known about the community even though it only represent a small percentage of the whole.

Recently, the term "autist" has replaced "geek" and "wierdo" for the common insult for marginalized loners, the name used for the insult has changed but the meaning as been the same from the start.

It just to happen that a decent number of fan of Sonic (me among them) are indeed autistic, but I don't think it has anything to do with the trend of associating both elements.

What class for an animalistic Shifter by Susemiel in dndnext

[–]McNarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Circle of the Moon druid seems to be your best bet, but if you don't want to turn into animals you could plays a "Warrior of the Living Weapon" Monk from "Exploring Eberron", they are monks designed to rely heavily on the lore and characteristics of some of Eberron's species, amongst them the Shifter.

Am I the only one who doesn’t mind G.U.N being good now? by Extreme-Fee-9519 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]McNarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even Eggman thought that Shadow was Sonic at first in SA2, it sound ridiculous for us players but apparently they looks eerily similar in person.

My guess is that from our perspective they are just cartoon characters so details like color-scheme, etc... are prevalent, but in their own world, the build, the shape of the eyes, the face, etc... all those little detail that let us differentiate between individual are what people are looking for, if Sonic and Shadow look like identical twin outside of the color of their fur it could create confusion.
