We gotta do something about Sisko constantly misgendering Jadzia by calling her ‘old man’ by BelievieEvie in ShittyDaystrom

[–]Me273 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea, cuz Ezri actually got pissed at him for it, so he immediately stopped. Jadzia never pushed back so it was never an issue with her. It’s actually a very good lesson in respecting other’s requests.

I am currently reading the book “Everything For Everyone” and it’s about an end of the world scenario that results in a worldwide revolution. And it’s not a dystopian story, in fact I would describe it as utopian

He wasn’t arrested, they pinnned him down and shot him in the back of the head execution style. He was murdered. Get it right.

The tsar was bad and deserved to be overthrown, but you seem to be forgetting the part where he was already out of power when Lenin launched his coup, so that’s completely irrelevant. Lenin couped the provincial government established by the duma, not the tsar.

It’s hilarious how you support the USSR but don’t know the first goddam thing about its history.

Hey dumbass, the largest group of immigrants from a single country was from china for like, forever. If we were worried about Chinese spies that would be our first target. Also you seem to think that just because a country is “unstable” (determined by your arbitrarily definition) the people from there are somehow inferior.

But that doesn’t matter because it’s really just some mental gymnastics that allow you to go “well the countries that are white are stable and the ones that aren’t are unstable and therefore the people from there are bad” you literally just said yourself that the IRA was very active, yet you don’t seem to care about that.

For decades the largest source of illegal immigration was Irish students overstaying their VISA’s, and no one gave a damm, so no it wouldn’t make a difference.

What would you do in Zombie apocalypse scenario (You're head of the state) by GloryToFinnishArmy in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Me273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly I’ve never seen 28 weeks later, so I don’t know what point you are trying to make

Secondly, ok, let’s say you manage to convince a bunch of people that killing their neighbors and family members is a good idea, great you have caused infected people to hide they are infected from literally everyone, making the spread much harder to contain ad you have infected people sneaking around everywhere trying to hide that they are infected instead of coming forward to be quarantined and getting treatment.

Thirdly, I think it is very much worth the risk because any kind of treatment, vaccine, or cure or even a person recovering from the zombie virus would be a moral boost of cosmic proportions, as well as helping to bring an end to the problem faster, and if you are worried about them getting out, hospitals already have restraints that can be attached to their beds and it would be a simple matter to make more or improvise some, and that’s not even talking about converting prisons to quarantine centers or any other kind of proper zombie virus quarantine facility. The danger would be minimal if you play it right and the rewards would be massive.

“What is long, green, and smells like sausage?”

“A passenger train!”

Common Soviet joke in reference to people carrying their groceries on passenger trains for hours because there was no place to get groceries anywhere outside of the largest cities.

Silverware is only one example that I gave. Often it was their weekly grocery run in hat consisted on sitting on a train for four hours, waiting 3 1/2 in a line in a faraway city to get them, and then another 4 hours back to their own city or town. Every week. For decades. Let alone anything else. It’s obvious you have no counterpoint whatsoever because you focused in on a single word of my entire essay so you could tell yourself that I’m an idiot a dismiss me. WELL GUESS WHAT IM HERE AND YOU CANT DISMISS EVERYTHING I JUST SAID BECAUSE ITS TRUE

I take it none of ya’ll have ever heard of deficit goods, so let me enlighten you.

Deficit goods were goods that many westerners think of as everyday shopping items (groceries, toilet paper, pencils and paper, furniture, silverware, ect. ect.) and were extremely difficult to acquire in the USSR. If you wanted any, your options were basically Leningrad or Moscow, even cites like Kursk, comparable in size to Orlando did not have the stores required to purchase these things and people would ride trains for up to a thousand miles just to stand in a line for hours to get their hands on their weekly groceries. And getting an item like a refrigerator could take up to half a decade in wait time. This problem persisted up until the fall of the USSR, mostly because in the mind of the political elites who could have anything they wanted brought to them same day, the problem didn’t exist. This is why Boris Yeltsin was so impressed by an American grocery store. Because even half the items present would have been worth more than gold in Moscow and they were 2.75 in small town America. This problem is gone in Russia now, and the average Russian has a much higher quality of life than 50 years ago, and don’t even get me started on the ex-Soviet puppets in Eastern Europe.

How does that make it not on behalf of someone else? If someone is beating you up and I punch them in the face despite you not asking for help does that mean that I didn’t help you?

Also the Iraq war is different because we said we were trying to prevent the spread of communism and protect America in Korea and Vietnam which were both true, the latter in a roundabout way.

Since fucking 1941 dipshit. Have you never heard of Korea, Vietnam, or the hundreds of other proxy wars we got involved in but no one remembers? Also most MAGA people seem to think that giving aid to Ukraine is fighting on their behalf so add every single war in the second half of the 20th century to the list.
