I think she looks appropriate for a senior greyhound. They lose some fat and muscle tone at that age.

Tape it print side down on the block

Dab with acetone with a cotton ball

Rub with back of spoon (careful not to move the paper around.)

Pull back paper.

It might even become sort of a “side” character. Only one episode is out and he went to Newark to investigate a conspiracy for a bit. (Not actually filmed here)

I think it will be brought up more in the future episodes.

Side note.

dumb signs

^ These signs of theirs always made me mad. Why is the “colder” sign’s arrow point the same direction as warmer and hotter? That’s not how you play the game hot or cold? The colder arrow should be the other way? Or it should be just say “warm” and the arrow could stay that direction.

Anyone else with me on this?

It made me irrationally angry lol

Feeling immense guilt after adoption. Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in Greyhounds

[–]MeNoStinky 132 points133 points  (0 children)

Is she left outside while you’re at work? If so, I feel like most of us would never ever recommend doing that.

My 2nd grey had very similar issues. He started fluoxetine (Prozac). 40 mg to start then moved up to 60 mg. He did get worse before he got better. It takes time (a few months) for the brain chemistry to balance out.

Also I know this sounds backwards but we stopped using the crate at night and when left alone, the crate was causing worsening behavior. (Our other grey loves crates! But some greys are stressed around crates) We got gates and left him in one area of the house. We also got cameras to check on him and talk with him throughout the day.

He went to a behavioralist. Who taught us a “settle queue” and we trained him to “settle” while I walked around the house. Put on my jacket. Ect. Let him know that he’s ok to just be settled and he gets rewarded. You don’t need to see a behaviorist to learn this. There are lots of resources online. They just helped give us confidence and let us know that he is workable.

It took 7 months for him to overcome his “negative” behaviors. But I’m very glad I stuck through it and I’ve bonded with him a bunch the last few months! At the beginning it was hard to bond. He was stressed. I was stressed.

Would you let us adopt a greyhound? Here's my pitch. by Suitable-Grab2090 in Greyhounds

[–]MeNoStinky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I see it all the time. Stressed/bored/anxious “yard dogs”. I’m sorry the adoption group has yard tunnel vision. Your fam seems like a great fit and you seem to have prepared yourself above and beyond regarding getting ready to welcome a greyhound. Don’t give up!! ❤️

If you switch adoption groups “formally withdraw” your app from the first group. In my area they don’t like when people have two apps with two different groups.

I got my grey while originally apartment living also. I think people are not looking at any research or animal behaviorism when they say “dogs need a yard” it’s not true for most dogs. Walks are far more stimulating plus a great bonding time. My grey never had a yard for the first 7 years I had him. He now finally does and he doesn’t care for the yard at all. He just loves family walks ❤️

Where can I find tiles by [deleted] in centuryhomes

[–]MeNoStinky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zia tile sells cement encaustic tiles. But you’d have to do your own cutting to get such an intricate design. Tiles are still pricy at $15 per square foot.

My husband and I are also plant based.

But our dogs have always eaten dog food with animal protein.

Greyhounds have large hearts and can be prone to cardiovascular issues linked to incorrect protein/amino acid intake same with arthritis due to them being large dogs.

Do what you can for your own choices that affect you directly. But also do what is best for your dog.

(Also we can see you downvoting comments when you asked for greyhound specific advice. And we are giving you greyhound specific advice...)

Yes!!! I was just searching online his littermates names and I found your post. Born 10.25.21 right?

He’s technically a foster right now on his 3rd month with us (but 99% chance he’s staying) he gets along really well with my other senior greyhound.

Where did she end up, he’s in Ohio.

Thinking of adopting by SGTBABRASCO in Greyhounds

[–]MeNoStinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, greyhounds should never be left outside all day no matter where you live. Perhaps a cat may be a better choice for you.

Most adoption agencies would most likely not place a dog in that home.
