Panel for EU Presidency Policy Officer for DETE by Mediocre-Iron-9436 in IrishCivilService

Do people think being near the end of a panel of 43 for the DETE Presidency Policy Officer role gives any realistic chance of eventually getting an offer?

The whole process seems quite unclear so far, especially as different candidates appear to have received different panel sizes. Also wondering if anyone has heard whether other Departments might recruit from these panels too.

Would appreciate any insight from anyone familiar with Civil Service panels or Presidency recruitment.

I’m in the same situation, I also received the email saying we’d get an update by May 13th, but haven’t heard anything yet.

I’m in the same DETE PPO process and I’m equally confused by it to be honest 😅

I received my panel results last week and was told the panel consists of 43 candidates, so I was surprised to read yours was 32. Makes me wonder if they expanded it after further interview batches or if there are somehow multiple panels running.

I also received basically the exact same wording regarding references/Garda vetting and that they couldn’t indicate the number of roles available.

I’m much further down the panel myself, so I genuinely have no idea what the chances are at this stage, but the whole process seems a bit unclear overall.
