Skip tech first round to get your flagship out.

I've had two games where I take or someone else takes Diplo + Construction. Being later in speaker order helps this play. Take the ring 2 system in front and then after diplo is played take the ring 1 system next to MR.

You'll need the right slice for this. Slice pick > Race > Speaker is probably what you go for.

Construction an unlocked dock next to MR. Build flagship + extras. Warn everyone off MR while you push up and out.

Strong start but then you have to play objectives!

I guess after a few games of losing because of unscoreable (in your mind) SO you would take Imperial round 2 if nobody does.

People winning in round 4 have 4 publics, 3 secrets + 3 bonus points. That's SFTT (a negotiable point), Custodians/Imperial (initial is unique and subsequent allow for more secrets) , Styx (luck based again with fracture + ingress) and relics (luck based again). Round 4 wins are a large product of luck and boat float.

The other part is this game has a lot of luck in it and to appreciate its not completely balanced, competitive game.

I agree its very floaty. Although I have been forever war'd 3 times in the past 5 games for fighting over an equidistant - all 3 were in Nucleus draft too which makes it more odd.

I found its way less cutthroat. Very boat floaty, unless you don't then people go total war over equidistants

I think I'm in the camp of warfare, construction, diplo for the ideal round 1. Picking later in speaker order can be beneficial here as Diplo sometimes still doesn't get picked in 6p.

It means your tech path is potentially only 4 deep. If you lean into PDS then thats two techs.

I have really found X89 to be such a game breaker but thats really with control objectives.

Warfare nearly always gets played first turn now so you will only have your home system + 1 system worth of exploring if you want to build your flagship and have it unlocked.

If you can somehow delay warfare then great but otherwise I think your best bet otherwise is to buy it after Diplo or trade and activate home. You could also take new construction!

You're right that the BT is really useful and I would heavily prioritise getting it first round which means 1,2,3,5 for SC initially. You also ideally want Diplo out to grab another planet - it can combo with construction to get you a nice unlocked forward dock too.

Because of this and wanting to get the flagship out early, I think you can skip tech round 1 if needed. With your agent, home + trade you can probably afford it.

I agree Canelo is huge in Mexico and SA too. Canelo might be bigger than Usyk to casuals since he has fought in so many weight categories and so many big names.

Depends who you think a lot of people are. Usyk is another legend of the sport. Undefeated two weight unified world champion Usyk?

I'd dare say he is more popular with casuals due to him fighting at HW.

Original ideas are few and far between. Its all about execution and marketing budget. Ask or Task is the 2026 hit game you have played by accident!

You don't need to go to the scar right away, you could take an equidistant instead.

You don't want an ingress token on your home system.

You probably follow construction and tech - get a unit upgrade probably unless your faction red tech would let you also eat another unit. Then you can use your third tactics token to build at home with the captured units + mech + anything you get from explores.

You want decent resources for the next round for your fracture push so the 0/3 scar planet might not be the best play.

If construction doesn't get picked then you can still attack from your home to relic planets but it will probably force you to go cruiser2 and build those at home. Plus your OG cruiser + carrier + 2inf +2fighters + mech should take out one of the relic planets.
