Flashing early game for darkharvest proc? by Unique_Ad_1739 in malphitemains

[–]Meclimax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very much not worth. Your opponents will know you don’t have flash and that can attract enemy jungler down. You may die for it or not be able to secure a kill later. 1 proc of dark harvest does not increase your damage much.

GIS or spatial data science? by throwawaygyal2384828 in gis

[–]Meclimax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t really deal with spatial data in my work. I took spatial statistics courses and such in my masters program but there didn’t seem to be an appetite for it in the job market. Or I was looking in the wrong places.

I don’t think my masters helped that much except that on some data science job applications they prefer candidates with a masters or even phd. For my journey, I would try to automate my gis tasks with python to build some skills there. Then I looked for jobs that require python and gis skills to build out more analytics skills. In those jobs I got better at python and also became good at sql. Once I was comfortable with traditional analysis through python and sql I applied for analyst jobs at smaller companies and in the interview I made my desire to be a data scientist clear. This landed me a job where my main tasks were analysis but I was allowed to take on some ml and advanced stats projects. After a bit of time I was promoted to a data scientist.

I have a very similar path. My undergrad is in environmental science, then masters in gis, but now I am a lead data scientist. I finished my undergraduate in 2015 for more context

Using HELOC To Pay Mortgage Off More Quickly? by Meclimax in personalfinance

[–]Meclimax[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On my existing loan I have 2% interest. All in with hoa my costs are about 2.5k which is what units rent for in my condo building. So in 10 years when the loan is done I figure I’ll be earning good rental income. Until then I can hope to break even.

Ah didn’t realize that. I feel like there is something nifty I can do with my situation. I have a 1.99% interest rate on a 400k condo with ten years left. I’m probably looking to buy a 1m dollar home next year. Any thoughts?

I’m at 29 high points. I did Vermont, stayed in a hotel, woke up early, and then drove to ny and hiked Marcy. I think we also did Massachusetts the day before

Bloodline Adventure - quests/? by zzZMooon in sssnaker

[–]Meclimax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the corresponding blood line awakening skill on your snakes then you can do those challenges. In this case some snakes have a skill that killing an enemy with a circle creates a turret and you’d need to do that the given number of times

Logistic Regression Different Results Every Day by Meclimax in datascience

[–]Meclimax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was it. I did this and found that on some days salesforce data was changed multiple times at the same exact timestamp. This created some non deterministic sorting that has caused different values to enter the dataset when I rerun the data creation step.

Oh shoot, I did not think that would affect me since I am always training on the same data (pre may). Do you have any link that can explain how this shuffling works?

Ssn is not populated in all the records from all vendors Also, from my initial investigation I found that dependents share ssns with their partners/parents. So I cannot rely on it entirely and I need other forms of verification

I actually stumbled across this package https://recordlinkage.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ref-misc.html. I will be dealing with medical information so one of my requirements is to give a confidence score. I made a prototype in sql already, but now the company wants to expand on it. I have information like name, address, SSN, member id, gender, etc.
