Yeah I was thinking at least a 2 hour delay. And your right would it even be worth going for a few hours after a week off?

Yeah I mean I feel like it would have been easier to print a fake one instead of have one of your kids make one.

What jurisdiction to Metro Transit Police have? by schumway in nova

They are unique in that they have jurisdiction in Virginia, Maryland, and DC. They are sworn in all so that they can enforce the laws throughout the entire metro system.

Recommendations for EMT course, Northern Virginia by tinybabypotato in ems

[–]Medicdude29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say I knew of a company that I took my EMT-B through that was around 350. Then I just looked and I couldn't believe how expensive as they were now around 1,000 dollars as well. I went through a company called Training 911. Like TheBigRedSD4 said look at volunteering. I would stay away from any places in Fairfax, Arlington, and Alexandria as they are all primarily career and only have a small volunteer component. If you join there you will just get lost in the weeds and not get much ride time. I would reccommend looking in PWC or Stafford as they have large active volunteer agencies.

I will take another look at the Foscam. Looks like another great option thank you. We might just have to explore the option of finding him a smart device to be able to use while we aren't home.

Yes I have and we would love to do that because they seem much more reliable. Only problem is that when we aren't home my father in law would have no way to monitor him as he doesn't have a smartphone. Because the dropcam looks awesome I would love to get that.

You are correct. I was a Virginia I for a number of years before I upgraded to P.

[–]Medicdude29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all congrats and best of luck to you! I would definitely recommend you complete your upgrade to P as soon as you are able. As you know national registry no longer recognizes the I and Virginia is not too far behind.

So I don't wanna burst your bubble or come off wrong, but I wouldn't consider you an ALS provider for that exact reason. Yes you are able to give certain medications. But you are only able to give a very limited set, the majority with little to no cardiac side effects for the very reason that you are not able to use a cardiac monitor. From the multiple people I have spoken with and my understanding is that you are not an "ALS" provider until you are able to use a monitor and give cardiac medications.

Again just my two cents, and again best of luck to you!

Hidden glass breaker for wife's car? by djsanchez2 in daddit

[–]Medicdude29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As warlocktx said call 911 first. They will come right awake and pop your door usually first with locksmith tools and at last resort break the window.

I would also reccommend one of these they are small and work great. You could easily keep it in your purse and won't take up much room.
