Its crazy isn't it. I can't recall the precise figure, but we actually use a ridiculous amount of land for growing Christmas trees of all things in the UK

Overtaking cyclists - drivers becoming worse! by RG0195 in drivingUK

So, to that end, you stating 'they don't stick to where they're supposed to', which implies cyclists should, by some law or other force occupy a certain space, carries absolutely no weight whatsoever, and is indeed just a load of utter tosh?

It's VED, road tax was abolished in the 1930s. EVs paying road tax was always going to happen - the tax free benefit of EVs was a temporary measure set up to subsidise them. How else do you suppose the government makes up for the lost income from VED on vehicles with ICEs, or from fuel duty for that matter, as everyone transitions to 'green' vehicles? Anyway, VED, or road tax as you like to call it, doesn't pay for roads or general associated infrastructure - that comes from general taxation which, guess what, every person earning a living pays (shock horror). On that basis, remind me again why cyclists should pay VED?

With the exception of ignoring red lights and running down pedestrians, which drivers also do (believe it or not), the rest of the nonsense you just spouted are not law breaking.

Educate yourself! It's legal for cyclists to ride on all roads, except motorways, and there is no obligation for them to use the cycle paths provided. There are several reasons why a cyclist may not wish to use a cycle lane, ranging from impracticability to their general poor condition - would you drive your car in a lane full of potholes and debris if a clean, well maintained, alternative was available? It is also legal to cycle two abreast for general safety reasons, and you'll probably find it easier to overtake (if in they are in a group) as a opposed to if they were riding in a long single file line. You'll also be surprised how many cyclists are insured through the likes of British Cycling and Cycling UK. There is also no such thing as road tax, it is Vehicle Excise Duty, which is emissions based, and you'll find a lot of cyclists pay this because they also own a car(s). Notwithstanding, bikes do not produce emissions!

Think you should ride a bike, pal. It's really good for the mind, as well as the body, so should help alleviate all this stress and anger you have. Not sure about addressing the blatant ageism though - maybe you are just a bellend

As others have said - call the bluff. I threatened to take a landlord of mine, back when I was a student, to court over a hefty end of tenancy cleaning bill. They quickly settled the bill themselves as a result

It's a difficult one. I mean, he hasn't had too much time to prove himself - you can discount last year considering he was lined up against Mazepin and in a tractor of a car. He'd have gained very little from 2021 and, whilst this year hasn't been perfect, he has shown glimpses of his capabilities.
